The Buckeye Times: In terms of interest, where does Ohio State stand for you right now in the recruiting process?
Kyle Kalis: Right now Ohio State probably holds the most interest from me. They were really the first school that displayed interest in me as a sophomore and I've stayed close with the coaching staff ever since.

TBT: What is it about Ohio State that you like?
Kalis: What I like about Ohio State is the great family environment they have there and also the coaches. Everytime I go down there it feels like I'm stepping into greatness and a close bond between the players and coaches. The coaching staff is amazing.

I think Coach (Jim) Bollman is as good of an offensive line coach as there is in college football today. And not to mention Coach Tressel's amazing bond with the players.

TBT: Which college team are you a fan of, if any?
Kalis: I am a huge fan of Ohio State. Always was and always will be.

Does he show OT (preferably LT) capability on a Buckeye level? He obviously has two more years to show some things off in high-school and has already played the RT for a bit, but I know a lot of tackles in high-school are going to be interior linemen on Ohio State. It'd be nice to have some tackles for the 2012 class.
I'm, admittedly, no OL expert, but from what I've seen and heard, the answer is "yes". He's likely the leading candidate to be protecting Braxton's blindside a couple years down the road.

Film Study: Week 1 | Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball – Bucknuts.com

Kyle Kalis, OL, Lakewood St. Edward (Class of 2012): I did not actually see Kalis play but I have reports from several knowledgeable high school football watchers who did see the game. He was up against top junior defensive end Tom Strobel from Mentor. The word "dominant" was being thrown about. Nobody dominates Tom Strobel. Strobel is the one usually doing the dominating. But Kyle Kalis dominated him.
