KyLLLLLe KaLLLLLis (traitor with a platinum sombrero)

It is with deep sadness that his stepfather passed away at Kyle’s family home on Lake Erie (Bay Village, Ohio) on February 8, 2017. His dream was to attend his “sons” first NFL game of his career.

'TF?!

Looks like the writer doesn't know the difference between a possessive apostrophe and quotation marks. But, the way I usually read quotes in a sentence like this is that they're meant to indicate some level of sarcasm. As in, "Yeah, right...his "son" (not really, just a step-father, doesn't count.)"
Kinda disrupts the warm fuzzy tone they were attempting.

However, he should've added some blood on the field.

I take it to mean that Tate Forcier's web design business has found another customer.

His entire scUM career gets glossed over. To paraphrase: Kyle was a really good high schooler and one of the top recruits in the country. Before he played a down in college, people thought he was really good. Really. He graduated the University of Michigan in 2016. Now he's in the NFL as an undrafted free agent. His step father passed away without getting to see Kyle play in the NFL. Had he lived, he still wouldn't get to see Kyle "play" in the NFL.

Did I use the quotation marks correctly?

What I like the best, is all of the shots of him "blocking" (there's those pesky quotation marks again) in college. The best action shot they have of Kyle, is him practicing his Tae Kwon Do in his scUM uniform against some green thing.
