"Real" MVPs don't disappear in a playoff Game 7, Mr. Bryant. He totally phoned in this second half.

The media wont mention it though.

If it was Lebron it would be a different story. It would get 10 minutes of discussion on every Sportscenter for the next 3-4 days. Its funny how hard everyone is on the 21 year old Lebron when Kobe can completely disappear and get away with it.

For example, imagine if Lebron missed two free throws yesterday, and the lay-up like Arenas. The media barely mentioned the two free throws, and only because they pointed out that Lebron said something to him before those free throws. Other than that, no one mentioned Arenas choking.

This stat has been brought up alot, but Lebron is the best player in the league when it comes from shooting percentage in the last 2:00 of the game. Yet the media still gets on him at every opportunity they get because he isnt "clutch." A few weeks ago we lost a game, and the following day I watched them break it down on Sportscenter. Lebron made something like 11-13 free throws, but they didnt mention that. Yet they did show that he missed one of those free throws with 9:00 left in the fourth.

Another example is the Miami Heat game in Cleveland. Wade missed a lot of crucial shots in the last minute while Lebron was hiting his. Yet the media makes no mention of Wade missing crucial shots.

Then you hear that Lebron still isnt "clutch" because he only has one game winning shot, and the rest are lay-ups. That is by far the dumbest thing I have heard concerning this. Why the hell does it matter if its a jumpshot or a lay-up? The results are the same.

The media is harder on Lebron than any player in the league, yet hes the best 21 year old to ever play the game. Good luck figuring that one out.

actually it takes less than half a brain to figure it out. Lebron and Kobe are the most heavily endorsed athletes in BB. Lebron has been living under a microscope since his junior year in high school. He was the #1 overall pick. To try and compare the media's treatment of him as opposed to Wade or the world famous Arenas (:slappy:) is just plain stupid and shows once again how little you know or seem to understand about the NBA.

Kobe Bryant cheated on his wife and is possibly a rapist.

So your logic is flawed. Wouldnt the media take it harder on him?

The media has been very hard on Kobe off of the court, not on the court.

And Kobe was the Scottie Pippen of the Lakers, not the Michael Jordan. That team was built around Shaq.

Completely false. The media has made a field day of the Kobe/Shaq fued the last 2-3 years and has basically declared Kobe as the one at fault. Kobe is also blamed for Phil Jackson leaving.

After Kobe scored 81 this year, most the media was saying it's a bad thing that showed how selfish he was.

Now, all of this IS Kobe's fault. He brought it on himself. But to say the media isn't hard on Kobe is just plain stupid.

I didnt say the media wasnt hard on Kobe, I said they werent hard on him on the court.

After Kobe scored 81 95% of the media was ready to name him president.

No, because it is completely wrong. The media was ripping on Kobe big time after his 80 point game.

It is just amazing how stupid you are when it comes to the NBA. Keep up crying about the officiating - it makes you look the dumbest.

The media still sucks off Kobe about his 81 point game. That was one of the biggest but stupid arguments some were throwing out for him to win MVP.

"All I can say is, he scored 81 points in a game. 81 points!" I heard that a few weeks ago on a halftime show when there was a debate as too who should win the MVP.

You obviously dont watch TV much.

Where is the idea of Kobe getting a free pass from the media coming from? TNT's post-game talked about Kobe at length after the game. So much so that after a while Barkley said "Can we talk about the teams that are still going to be playing?"

More than once they mentioned the fact that Kobe's only point in the second half was a free throw for an illegal defense.

He just doesn't know how to make his team better.

For Phoenix, guys like Diaw and Barbosa looked like All-stars last night. Phoenix had a game plan, and the Lakers didn't know how to respond.

The hell with Kobe - I'm glad the Lakers are gone, so the playoffs can be a little more about basketball and a little less about that arrogant asshole.

And it was nice to see Phil Jackson finally lose in the first round, and finally lose a series in which his team had a lead. I still don't understand why he wanted to come back to coach that team. I guess the so-called Zen master has quite an ego himself, enjoying the spotlight in la-la-land.
