Lane Avenue open through games

Cooker is out of business? When did that happen?
About 6 months ago I think...they only had a few stores left, in columbus and somewhere in Tennessee...workers showed up and found that the doors were padlocked and a little note saying the restaurant was closed

My sister, whom just graduated Sunday from OSU has a good friend in the ticket office. Her friend said there is no way they can check all student ID's as they are so under staffed as it is, yet check 20,000 ids. Who knows if it is true, but my sisters friend pretty muched laughed at the whole checking ID thing.

Didn't Killernut say he was an usher or ticket taker and they would be checking? I've been to several professional games where they scan tickets. It's not going to take hours like people are thinking for everyone to get through the gates. It takes all of 10 seconds to make sure an ID and name on ticket match. I think he also said there would be someone checking this before you got to the ticket taker.

What's so hard about getting to the game early enough to get in your seat before kickoff? Don't wait until 11:45 to start walking over to the stadium.

They scanned at the last baseball game I went to, it really doesn't take much time...the problem last year is that they were funnelling 20,000 students through 2 ushers, which was idiotic

Basicly as far as tailgating, I am hoping it is going to be like the last two years when they "cracked down." where if you behave yourself and dont draw attention to yourself they wont bother you. But We shall see.

Wow

That is news to me about the cooker. I am just bummed that I won't go to a game for a couple weeks.

Has there been any other new construction for this year? Are they going to bring the tailgating back to the Lane/St. John's Area again?

I live to far away to get news on that.

Hmm...tons, but mostly away from the Lane area (except for the widening and beautification of Lane of course)

There is the Gateway center between 9th and 12th on High St that is starting to take shape, there is a new Hospital Garage, new Heart Hospital (so eat all the brats you want!), 2 new 315 ramps (one to get on from the south, the other to get onto south) but they are closed to football traffic...new physics building is done on Woodruff, new Architecture building is just about done too, I think they just have to work on the inside now, maybe a little polish...12th ave and neil intersection was redone, lights were put in...new biomedical research tower going up on 12th, they redid the S curve in Cannon by the stadium (just finished), Page Hall (John Glenn Institute) on College Ave is almost done, and it looks AWESOME. New foregin languages building is finishing up...

The biggest thing is that the Oval has been shut down all summer, they're putting in drainage, sprinklers, and redoing the walkways...the walkways will open up for fall quarter, but the grass will still be fenced off until spring

About the only thing affecting your commute to the game will be the new bridge over Woody Hayes, it is currently only half done so has 2 lanes instead of four, but I look for it to be finished in time for some of the later season games. And because of this, the lot on Olentangy River Rd is restricted (I think it was just RV parking though) and ORR is down to 2 lanes under the bridge, Lane is completely open, so try that instead :)

If you are disabled, take note that the parking lot behind Campbell Hall (on the South Side of Larkins) on Neil Ave will be CLOSED due to a building being built there...so make provisions to park elsewhere

And yes, there is some stuff I left out
