Larry Bird must be soooo proud....

Have you arrived at an answer yet katt...we're still waiting...:wink2:

It's hard to do math when I must keep correcting your grammar!
Is that "sentence" even a question? I don't see a question mark! Also, Katt is a proper name, and thus, ought to be capitalized! Get with the program, pal!

Alright BKB, I've calculated the volume of the filled section of the bowl, based on the proportional size of the bean in comparison to the size of the bowl. It is approzimately 6.82 inches in diameter and the filled section is approximately .376 inches deep. This yields a volume of 36.5307 cubic inches. I built a small cube, 1 inch per side, and this held 11 brown beans, identical to those in the picture. Thus, there will be approximately 402 beans in that picture. Of course, after wasting an entire evening doing this, I realized that I am, in fact a bean counter extraordinaire, NOT a bean estimator extraordinaire; so, I went to the Mikasa Factory Outlet Store in Jeffersonville and managed to locate an identical bowl. I returned home and used the aforementioned picture to create a 3-D model of the beans, and proceeded to use a bag of Mrs. Katt's beans to create an exact replica of the topic of the photograph. Man was she pissed when she came home and found that I was playing with her beans again. Oh, well. At least I get to sleep on the couch tonight. I then counted each and every bean, and it turns out, there were, in fact, 404 beans in the bowl. As it turns out, my estimate was pretty close. Maybe I should be an estimator, rather than a counter. Maybe I'll think about it. That was a fun puzzle. Let me know if you have any more for me.

GD01: I think it's 5.
