When OSU's cupboards are full? He chose msu over osu. He was a top 100 prospect.
This seemed like an interesting recruitment though to be honest. We clearly liked his game but also didn't chase him as our #1 target - we courted Harris very heavily and Scott was obviously very happy with MSU who made him their #1 choice. For all the Franklin and Harbaugh talk, etc. our biggest recruiting threats thus far seem to be MSU/Notre Dame as a close tie followed very distantly by anyone else. Sparty is a legit program and I guarantee you the staff view them as a recruiting threat. Still, Urban recruits nationally and he has the balls to pursue the very best while still trying to keep the other premier players in Ohio warm. This is a tough balancing act but one that Urban has proven he can pull off. The collateral damage of course will be to occasionally lose great players to teams like Sparty - not because our cupboards were full though but because we aren't afraid to identify the top players on our board nationally.

He's a good one, but let's also remember the opponent.
Oregon's plushie soft D can't handle S̶t̶a̶n̶f̶o̶r̶d̶ Big Football™.
Their starter, London, had 44yds on 5 more carries than against Western Michigan -- including a better ypc by over a yard (5.7 vs 4.5).
That said, seems like the dropoff from Langford isn't very big and so far utilizing TE to makeup for Lippett's playmaking. Offense isn't as explosive, but D is looking better than last year.

Report: MSU's L.J. Scott arrested for license infraction for seventh time in two years

Michigan State junior L.J. Scott was arrested Wednesday for driving with a suspended license, according to court records. The Spartans' top rusher has a history of similar violations.

Scott, 21, has been stopped by police and accused of driving with no license or a suspended license seven times in the past two years, according to the Lansing State Journal. The report says Scott has paid more than $1,000 in fines during that period for traffic stops in Michigan and Ohio.

Scott was released on bond after his arrest and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing in East Lansing on Nov. 2.

Scott has to have his bail bondsman's number on speed dial.....

The most surprising part is that it is "MSU's L.J. Scott" and not "Former MSU player L.J. Scott."
