Went and saw Christopher Robin today, and it was very good and so much more than a "kids movie." I thought it was actually fairly moving with a great message for our hectic lives. Plus, it hit all the little nostalgic points just right. And the classic Sherman Brothers songs redone by Richard were perfect for the tone and pacing of the movie. Make sure to stay during the credits for a fun Richard Sherman piece as well.

Watched Moon yesterday, really cool Sci-Fi movie from a few years ago. Holy hell Sam Rockwell is a really underrated actor. Directed by David Bowie's son. Don't really want to say more than that, kind of best enjoyed if you go in without knowing much about it

Meh. Had potential and decent acting, but a few too many unnecessary and stale side plots (the semi-alcoholic protagonist cop is fucking up his marriage to his too hot wife and she's bailing on him and taking their cute little daughters with her and it has nothing to do with the main plot. Gee I've never seen that one before) and the "twist" has been done better in many other movies. I was on a 10.5 hour flight so I also watched Black Panther (very good but not quite up to the hype IMO), Avengers: Inifnity War (again), and most of War Dogs.

I saw that today and liked it as well. Compares favorably to the previous versions with Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Cooper did a solid job as a director.

Yes, I just typed 'Barbra Streisand' on a football site.

I wasn't 100% sure this was a safe space to say I liked this movie.

I knew the main beats to the story but had never seen any of the versions. I thought Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were both good.

Saw "First Man" with the wife over the weekend, on the big screen where this movie probably works best. All the flight-test and shuttle scenes are incredibly tense/intense, claustrophobic, disorienting... and that's a compliment! At the same time it's a very personal movie, basically centered on a tragic event in Armstrong's past, which surely made for some misty eyes among the parents in the audience. Very good cast, just a really well made movie.
