I agree we will be fine either way, but also think we could be possibly better :wink2:.

Either way it's just debating, which many of us obviously enjoy.

Why the crying avatar if you just want us to let it shake out?

The smiley was a joke, and I'm just really tired of reading about people bickering about recruits. We've heard this stuff before and we've always been fine. This class is fine. Next year's looks to be ridiculous. Even if it's not ridiculous, we'll do better than most schools. I'm just assuming that this year's class is over and moving on. If a surprise happens, awesome. If not, I'm not concerned.

Don't know about you 'Bus, but that complimentary copy of "The Wit and Wisdom of Jeffcat" was the incentive that made me whip out the old JCPenny card and sign up.

Guys.. let it shake out. We're the Buckeyes regardless, and we'll be fine.

Yes, it's good to be Buckeye. It (above) doesn't necessarily apply to other schools. However, in Ann Arbor they are still probably saying: "We're the Wolverines regardless, and we'll be fine."

We'll say what we will while we can, but it's hard to say RichRod did a bad job this year. They have some recruits that I REALLY wish we could've roped in. Cullen Christian, any of their safeties, and even Devin Gardner might become a "boy, I wish we would have..." if we don't bring in Braxton next year. On the whole, it's not a typical Michigan-caliber class, but it's definitely a good start.

I'm sorry, I totally just took this thread on a detour. Let me make up for that:

I'd be a happy camper if we ended up with Latwan. I know people are bitter over the WVU commitment at the Army game, but people make mistakes. People make bad decisions that they eventually regret. He apparently realized his mistake before it was too late (before signing day) and I'd happily accept him in this class. He's a great talent at a position we could use.

Ok, since you answer my question with a question I will do the same.

So why not LA, but Moses, Hendo, Williams, Hyde etc?

Why is one worthy and one is not?

I appreciate you not being condescending with your post, it seems like emotions are running high with some.

Well, first... _I_ never said no to LA. I'm not even sure that the staff has done so... for good that is.

Second, let's assume that they do. I'm going to further assume that the staff, over many years of working with young people, have learned to identify traits that are either desirable or not desirable in players in which they want to invest. I believe that this is a staff that is not likely to kick a kid the the street once they have taken them in. As far as the "but Moses, Hendo, Williams, Hyde?" question? Well, I'm guessing that the staff has seen things in them -- beyond talent and potential -- that made them worth the shot.

Finally... I don't know any of these kids from Adam... I trust the coaches to make the best decision for the program. That's all we can do. But honestly, when you break things down to the following:

1) High talent kid
2) Kid has interest
3) Staff passes (which may or may not be the case here, just saying in general)

That all boils down to one thing in my mind. I'll let you decide what that means to you.

Didn't you get your six month supply of twizzlers?

Gotta wonder how rational wvu fans feel about all of this. They get the kid's verbal and are likely an afterthought now.

Looking back at this year, it really seemed like the one missing piece was Eugene Clifford that would have made this defense unstoppable. It would have allowed the front 7 to pay less attention to the back when you know there's a stud back there. Not that I'm saying Latwan would develop into as good of a player as Clifford (plus Clifford came w/his own set of problems). He very would could be one of the many 5* recruits that just don't end up panning out. Another 5 star DB from glenville comes to mind. I for one, hope we pull LA into this class.

You think Clifford would've been starting over Coleman or Russell?
with his head on straight, yes (over Russell). Considering he was bumped by Hines, who is good not great, I don't think it's an outlandish prediction, given Gene's potential. But that's a discussion for another thread.

Still don't think he would've been a starter, and certainly not the "one missing piece that would have made this defense unstoppable".

I don't think he was the "1 Missing Piece". We were rarely beaten deep this season. I do think Eugene would have been starting, however. He had a mix of speed and ball skills that made me extremely excited when he signed on. Too bad he couldn't put it all together in his short time here.
