I was at a 2nd grade Christmas play/musical tonight. It was something about a fake elf. Around 10 kids were elves, 8 were reindeer, 1 was Santa and the rest were the singers. At different times, the elves, one-by-one would have lines to say and then a song, etc. (I knew many of the lines as I had a copy of the "script" to help practice with my boy at home.) It was a cute little production, until towards the end, elf #8 had the following line:

"He was masquerading as an elf"

A seemingly harmless line, except this is what it sounded like coming out of his mouth:

"He was masquerbating an elf"

I laughed, tried to keep the laughter under control, but couldn't as others started to chuckle once their brains processed what was said. My jaws still ache. I'm so happy that my wife got it all on tape.
