Lawsuit Challenges Rule for Transfers Between NCAA Division I Football Schools

Zurp

I have misplaced my pants.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...-hawkeyes-northern-illinois-huskies/81510022/

Some jerk who was going to Northern Illinois wants to go to Iowa. Iowa accepted him, but he couldn't get a waiver to be eligible immediately. So he went crying home to eat hamburgers and some jerk-ass lawfirm decided it was their business to also eat hamburgers and call the NCAA a bunch of homos. They think it's not fair that coaches can move around "all they want to", but the players can't.

I guess they're also challenging some deal where another jerk was transferring from an FCS school to an FBS school AFTER his eligibility had expired. It doesn't seem too clear to a hamburger-eater like me, but is he seeking more eligibility?

And they're also challenging the cap on the number of scholarships a team can give out.

I'm no lawyer, but it sure seems like this lawfirm has a lot of hamburgers they want to eat.

Sure, coaches can move around however they want. They have contracts that can be bought out, don't enroll in classes and don't have eligibility. You can't...let players...just...jump from team to team each...

Looks like they're just throwing spaghetti against the wall and hoping something sticks? A lot of that stuff is kinda "wtf?"
I would like to see transfer rules loosened though. No penalty going P5->MidMajor (make it like FBS->FCS), bring back Grad free agency, school not allowed to put limits on transfer options, etc.
