LB Austin Spitler (official thread)

Guys like Austin that fly under the microscope can pack the biggest punch sometimes. Look at Sirjo Welch, if I am not mistaken, he was not highly rated out of high school and he was arguably our best gunner on special teams this year.

Agreed...see Hawk, A.J. for further reference...:)

Congrats Austin!

Congratulations, Austin!

You're following in some very big footsteps if you play linebacker at tOSU. Study hard, listen to your coaches, lift and train like a maniac, and get yourself ready to knock the snot out of every gold-panted weasel who comes your way.

From the looks of your Rivals picture, you've sure got the neck of a linebacker. That's a real good start.

Go Bucks!

I like guys who jump at the bit to play at OSU. It shows me that they have heart, and want to be apart of tradition. At LB, one must have heart if they want to be good, everything that Spitler has said leads me to believe that he does.

Here's betting that linebacker Austin Spitler, who committed this weekend, is better than many people think. The Buckeyes are riding high after the victory over Michigan and making some recruiting waves - again.
This is what Jeremy Crabtree had to say about Spitler on Rivals. This was from the team rankings page, where osu fell to 5th behind UGA, who has 3 more commits than osu. Nebraska took over the top spot from UVA. OSU is about 40 points behind UGA, but the Spitler commit hasnt been added yet. It wont be enough to bump osu past UGA however.
