re-watching the Rutgers game, it's pretty clear Borland isn't 100%

kid looked like a natural on the outside today, his athleticism took over... either Tuf Borland is still not quite 100% or someone else needs to be given a chance in the middle because he just doesn't have it this year at least not yet... I'd be ok with Werner Hilliard Browning with Harrison rotating heavily in the corps

easy to show flashes vs. Tulane, lets see him do it consistently, and vs. PSU this weekend. Loads of talent, I want to see him put it all together.

Watched the game again. LB play has been discussed ad nauseam. Hate to keep harping on the same issues but it isn't getting fixed. On numerous ocassions vs. Minny, Baron was standing in the hole that the ball carrier eventually ran through. He was not engaged with an OL and could have come downhill and attacked the ball, to possibly make a tackle or at least slow him up. Instead, he sought after the OL, engaged, and essentially took himself out of the play, leaving his gap unfilled and a massive running lane behind. I don't get it. Then, to top it off, falls to the ground after hardly being touched. Gotta be tougher than that if he is going to be successful here. Man, I hope there is time to clean this up.

See ball..... get ball. Our LB's play too close to the LOS and aren't tracking the ball very well. Borland ran damn near 20 feet the wrong way before he realized the ball was going the other way. PA pass against better teams (MSU and ttun) are going to kill us down the stretch.

Bestbuck36 Kyle Young man crush. Not ashamed

Move him to rush end or OLB with blitz responsibilities. Take away the thinking and say ATTACK!

    Gonna need the depth

I don't know the answer but they sure continue to give him opportunities while he's trying to figure it out. Something needs to change.

I noticed they had him in on quite a few assummed pass downs (3rd and mediums) against Minny and they snuck some runs in with success. Not sure what his role is going to be the rest of the way if he continues to vacate his gap when the run is coming right at him.

I'll never understand the decision to play him inside.

Said that very thing in the defensive thread... we need the help rushing the passer and Baron certainly has the abilities to rush the passer.

Hope we see this a bit... because you're right he's lost inside.

Was he a MLB in HS? He always reminded me of Jerome Baker or Shazier type, who flew sideline to sideline

He lined up all over, but I don't recall seeing him at MLB. With his athleticism, he's perfect to play outside....
