LB Bobby Carpenter (All B1G, National Champion)

21, do you know the extent of his injury today?? Is there any chance he'll be able to play the bowl game??

In reality, don't expect him to play. However, the kid has played through some major stuff this year...so I would not be surprised if he does it.

He has put the program ahead of his future this year. I do not doubt he would do it one more time in the Bowl.

Broken fibula...no way he plays in the bowl game. Poor guy was crying when he came back from the locker room on crutches. Nate Salley came over and gave him a hug and tapped him in the head...this defensive unit is as close as any ever.

I agree, real tight unit. Especially these linebackers...3 awesome stud senior linebackers...tightest group i've ever seen in football. Everywhere they go they are side by side, even when they are filmed getting off the bus and walking into the stadium, all 3 side by side.

Real sad thing to see Carp get injured so severely on the first play of THE GAME. But at least he got that one in I suppose.

On a side note, I thought Laurinaitis stepped in and did a decent job. Didn't stand out in a bad way, and stood out in a good way a few times, especially when he dropped hart at the LOS and took him out of THE GAME.

I'm no MD... but I am guessing you can plate the fibula (its non weight bearing)... plus with over 6 weeks to heal... he could very well play in the bowl... I'd be more concerned with ligament injury which is generally associated with fibula breaks ...

My heart goes out to Bobby today. On the first defense play of the game, he hurt his ankle while going up against Jake Long. He came back out of the lockerroom on crutches, and was visibly crying his eyes out, but he still kept being a leader...

This one was for you Bobby, you deserved more for your last Big 10 game, but this win was for you...

Fuck yes it was, I feelt horrible for him.
But at least they won, that should heal some wounds!

its kinda funny that i hear now he has a broken fibula because after i walked back from the game into the golf course, and as that shit fest of a parking lot/golfcourse, that by the way couldnt wasnt organized at all, i saw him walk on up with those cruches in his left hand and walking on that leg, and i told him to get better, and he said he'll be fine....
