1) Rivals $ - Crowell doubles offer total
February 26, 2010
Dave Lomonico
MDHigh.com

UNC & Duke have offered adding to the already received offers from WVU & Maryland... Ohio State & BC have both talked to his coach about getting film... He's hitting camps & waiting to see what other offers he gets before narrowing his list in the fall...

2) Rivals $ - Premiere Showcase: The Linebackers
February 28, 2010
Bobby Deren
ScarletNation.com

Praised for his coverage abilities & speed (one of the fastest LBs in attendance)... Used great technique & his size advantage to win one on one battles...

3) Rivals $ - Crowell 'shocked' by major offer
Dave Lomonico of MDHigh.com, March 12, 2010

Crowell has a written offer on the way from Ohio State (no explanation on how he knows - assuming via his coach)... He was completely surprised by it & says "every" kid dreams of playing for OSU... Has visited once & calls the atmosphere "amazing"... Names the Buckeyes as his leader & hopes the offer stimulates more from other big time programs... No time table provided...

A little surprised this came before an offer to Antonio Poole, and Andre Sturdivant for that matter, but Crowell sounds like a great LB prospect. I would imagine this shows the staff was 2 LBs and possibly sees Vaughters as a long shot to come North. DePriest, Crowell and Poole (when/if offered)... I'll take any combination of the 2 of them.

They will always be more cautious in state.

With oos kids - excluding a rare case like Kris Harley - they still have leeway with oos offers. Most of those kids can still be slowplayed after offering if they get a verbal or have another reason to slowplay that position/player.

When you offer an ohioan, especially one dying for an offer, they are often favoring osu or a strong possibility to commit.

They also have to toss their hat in the ring now for most non-sleepers out of state. They can't get in on a prospect in may, july, september like they probably can with sturdivant. Not saying they wait that long, just an example.

Really impressive prospect, a tad reminiscent of Storm Klein with his skills carrying the ball. It seems like he knows the other teams cadence...he always gets a great jump on the play. Big fan of this offer, Crowell is a baller.

"He posted a staggering 121.02 SPARQ prior to his junior year at the Baltimore Nike Combine after registering an electronically-timed 4.55 40-yard dash, 4.01 20-yard shuttle, 32.7-inch vertical and 39-foot power throw."

Wow.

Wow, is right! What an amazing athlete. I wonder if he'd be recruited as a Star or Pass rushing LB like Dorien Bell
