LB Curtis Grant (National Champion)

Sabino still played special teams on some really good teams
Grant can't even see the field on special teams in mop up

There is another issue keeping him from the field......perhaps in addition to simply not picking up the schemes

I wouldn't give up on him yet...it took Sabino a while for the game to slow down for him...

I think he's better suited as on OLB rather than making the calls at MLB. If we get Mike Mitchell or Trey Johnson or both I think Fickell will move him to SLB where sabino played. I was surprised that he was move to the MLB spot this year when the initial depth charts came out.

The thing about him is he got to work every day in practice with Zach Boren Etienne Sabino and Ryan Shazier to see how they prepare for the game. I'm really hoping that we see a drastic improvement in his game because we all know that he has the athletic ability to succeed, now he just needs to find the work ethic and head to prove that he deserves to be out there every week.

So anyone want to project the depth chart for that spot? I feel like we have 5 guys that play that position.

Miller may move over to SDE behind Washington, as Bennett moves to DT next year.

SDE: Washington - Miller - Pittman
LEO: Spence - Grant - Lewis

I think Marcus took reps here at LEO towards the end of last season, but I believe he stays at LB for a little while longer. He would never see the field behind Spence and Grant - if DE is Grant's best position, he is more than athletic enough to do it.

Don't ever see him starting over Spence, but anything's worth a shot I guess at this point. I hope he can make some sort of impact.

So the depth chart, IMO, is looking like this next year:

SDE - Bennett, Pittman / Moore
UT - Washington, Bosa, Sprinkle / Munger
NT - Schutt / Hale, Carter, Hill
LEO - Spence, Miller, Grant / Lewis

Extremely young, but extremely talented.
