LB Darron Lee (National Champion, Super Bowl Champion, Fugitive)

If Perry and Lee were so good and the fault only Grant, how exactly did Navy rack up 370 yards rushing? Navy had 138 yards rushing in the first half but 196 yards in the third quarter.

They gave up 370 yards but only scored 17 points one of which was bogus. If the officials hadn't jerked us over so much it would have looked even better. They were tough when they needed to be and made stops when they needed. Total anomaly

How was Western Kentucky able to hold Navy to 86 yards rushing in their win over the squids last year.
People are acting like the triple option is like Bo Jackson in Techno.
17 point win and 17 given up is fine but no buckeye fan who is honest they would run for 370.
It appears lb are yet again not top shelf.

He was not in a good sport to make the tackle if that pitch was clean.

#23 came up and filled well

the CB stayed on his feet and kept outside contain but the mesh between the three wasn't great, there was room for the RB

Bosa is the stud who made that play.

Because the safety has the pitch man. His responsibility is close the edge and force the pitch. Every time the wing back went in motion, the safety followed.

Because the transitive property always works. :bonk:

Yes I saw that and the safety clearly had the pitch man but my point is the guy who's supposed to be the inside force was out of position and the guy who is supposed to keep the edge was in iffy position. If the pitch man had juked the safety (not like it hasn't happened a few times recently) he has some wiggle room in the umbrella.

I get what you're saying. But the middle linebacker is supposed to be the guy that follows the ball. That's why they were back so far, to diagnose. If the safety were to miss, it would be on the MLB and CB to clean it up. (I'm not saying anything you don't know, but I think Darron did his job pretty well on that play.)

Yeah, I guess its just judgement on if you think he was in a good spot to help clean up.

I'm still having PTSD of watching our LB's take horrible angles and being late to the spot I guess.

I mean at the end of the day who gives a shit? He scored right?

because they are the best rushing team in the country?

Because of new plays not seen on film.

Ash said Navy's offensive success had nothing to do with OSU's youth and everything to do with what Navy was doing. Great technique, fundamentals and scheming. He said every team pulls out 4 or 5 plays that you have never seen on film, and your job is to adjust and survive those. He said there was a play in the second half that they kept hitting the Buckeyes on and they tried to adjust, but just couldn't execute the play.

Keenan Reynolds left that game in the second quarter due to injury.

I'm not knowledgeable enough about the assignments of various players against the option to be able to comment on Lee's performance overall. But he and Worley demonstrate pretty conclusively that few teams we'll see this season will have more speed at linebacker than tOSU.
