LB/DB De'van Bogard (R.I.P.)

De'van Bogard still giving Bucks a chance
June, 2, 2011
By Corey Long

Despite the recent resignation of Jim Tressel and the related drama that has engulfed the Ohio State football program, it hasn't deterred defensive back De'van Bogard (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) from giving the Buckeyes a fair chance.

"It doesn't change too much really," Bogard said. "One person doesn't stop the show."

Sam Webb: Cleveland Glenville safety Devan Bogard has offers from Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State. It used to be the case that a Glenville kid that had an Ohio State offer was going to be a Buckeye. Period. Big offensive tackle Aundrey Walker bucked that trend last year when he chose USC. Is Devan Bogard also one that might deviate from the expected course? Do you think the Spartans and Wolverines have real opportunities, especially in light of Tressel?

Allen Trieu: They have an opportunity right now, but I think he is pretty much all Buckeye. He may be in sort of holding pattern, but I think he'll wait and see what goes on at Ohio State and I think he will end up being a Buckeye.

Bill Greene: I think Bogard is the one kid that is going to stay true to Ohio State. I think he is going to take his visits in the fall and winter. That is the Glenville way. But I think Bogard is the one kid that will stay (with the Buckeyes) and kind of follow the plan. I think Bogard is all Ohio State right now and it would take severe NCAA sanctions to lose him.
