Because of injuries like Jaylon Smith's and Myles Jack's. It is going to be extremely rare to see eligible 1st round prospects stay an extra year

If he comes back I'LL be pissed at him. You don't turn down 1st round money unless you think you can jump from bottom 5 first round to top 5 first round. I think he's around #20 if he leaves. Risk far outweighs the reward.

Scouts say everyone is a first rounder.. He should file his paperwork if the paperwork comes back saying 1st rounder then absolutely he should be gone

JEROME BAKER'S 'HUGE UPSIDE,' NON-STARTER MENTALITY COULD BE MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN FOR BILL DAVIS AND OHIO STATE
When Bill Davis first saw Jerome Baker work out, he, like most people came away impressed.
“Jerome is a very talented young man,” Davis said early in spring practice.
You remember the plays Baker has made so far in his brief two-year Ohio State career. There was the one-handed interception during the spring game two years ago, the time he made Wilton Speight pay for an errant pass over the middle to keep the Buckeyes in The Game and the ball he snatched out of the air at Oklahoma and raced 68 yards untouched to the house.
The kid just makes plays. But it is his mentality that has Davis particularly intrigued about what he calls Baker's "huge upside."
“I think he’s got a big upside but again, he’s got a lot of work in front of him too. The potential is there but potential is a very dangerous word,” Davis said. “It’s got to be backed up by work and he’s working very hard right now so we’re excited about him.”

Now a Vet, Buckeye Linebacker Jerome Baker Leading by Example
Buckeye Nation was formally introduced to linebacker Jerome Baker on September 17 of last year when Ohio State took on the Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma.
On a University television show the previous week, OU backup quarterback Austin Kendall proclaimed that starting quarterback Baker Mayfield would “light up” the “basic” Buckeye defense. Jerome Baker, like the rest of the Silver Bullets, took those comments personally.
In the first quarter, with OSU already up 7-0, Mayfield had a pass tipped at the line of scrimmage by defensive end Jalyn Holmes. It was intercepted by Jerome Baker and returned for a pick six.
That game was just the beginning for Baker. A sophomore at the time, he was one of Ohio State’s breakout stars during the 2016 season. He started 12 games, compiling 83 tackles, with 9.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery.
While he proved to be battled tested last season, he also had tremendous help from All-Big Ten linebacker Raekwon McMillan. McMillan is off to the NFL, so now all eyes are on Baker to step up and help lead the Buckeye linebackers.
“Jerome is a very talented young man and he has a lot of upside, but again he’s got a lot of work in front of him too,” linebackers coach Billy Davis said back in the spring. “The potential is there, but potential is a very dangerous word. WITH AN IMPROVED UNDERSTANDING OF THE DEFENSE, JEROME BAKER WILL BE MORE THAN JUST A FREAK ATHLETE IN 2017
Jerome Baker is a freak athlete.
That's no secret. The Buckeye linebacker stands at 6-2, weighs in at 225 lbs. and was clocked at a 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash – the team's eighth-fastest time. To put that in perspective, Baker is far bigger than any skill player on the roster, but is faster than all but seven of them.
Baker is such a tremendous athlete, national college football analyst Bruce Feldman ranked him No. 17 on his "Freaks List" of college football's top athletes.
"Baker has ridiculous measurables,” Ohio State strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti told Feldman in the article. “He’s tough and he's Ryan Shazier-like if not faster. He can fly. He was 200 [pounds when he arrived at Ohio State]. He's now 223. Darron Lee is longer and more of a strider. Jerome is made for the walk-out [linebacker position]."
Baker put that raw athleticism on display in his debut season as a starter, finishing with 83 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. But despite those eye-popping numbers, there was a lot of room for improvement, namely in the mental aspect of his game.
Both Baker and linebackers coach Bill Davis said there were times last year when the first-year starter was not sure of his presnap positioning.
"He wasn’t sure, so he went right in between the two alignments you’re supposed to have," linebackers coach Bill Davis said. "He said ‘Well, I was kind of over there, Coach, I was kind of over there.’"
