11/20

By Kurelic... Called Meyer and Fickell today and got the good news. Racked up 10 sacks and 44 tackles for loss this season.

Love this offer. I like how we are very aggressive in going after blue chip OOS kids but we also can't afford to consistently lose instate battles to SCum or ND. There's been a few kids from Iggy who's made their way up north in the last couple of years. As recently as three years back, Tressel had even that part of the state locked down.

So if we land MItchell and Johnson this year, and the staff feels we're in good shape with McMillan and Garret next year, do we take Berger?

Don't forget about the LB from st v/st m and the other from Springfield. Both serious prospects as well

I'm a little surprised about all the early LB offers.

I think they get Worley, Mitchell and Johnson this year to go along with either Lee or Lewis (presumably one of them ends up at LB as well although it's possible Lee is a S or WR and Lewis ends up at LEO).

I thought the trio they were after next year was Garrett, Booker and McMillan. Then the offer to Berger came and now I'm not sure what their board looks like for next year. Will be interesting to see who they pursue. You have to imagine if they are offering Ohio kids this early they intend to pursue aggressively, especially when it's two kids like Berger and Booker who from what I can tell are heavy OSU leans.

From watching his film, Berger looks like an extremely disciplined and assignment sound player that can control the edge of the LOS but lacks the elite athleticism to excel as much in space.

He seems like a possible LEO candidate to me.
