LB Raekwon McMillan (New England Patriots)

Technically he didn't say "did anyone hear anything," he said "does anyone find it odd that we didn't hear anything." There's a difference. Having said that, not really.

Yep. Elephant wasn't asking for an update, just making an observation/comment.

OSU lead going into the visit. OSU leads after the visit. Alabama is still the biggest threat...but I am fairly confident he signs with the good guys when it's all said and done.

Rivals $ - UA Target Spotlight: Raekwon McMillan

7/31

Andrew Bone speculates the decision could come down to UGA and Alabama because of distance. No mention of his recent OSU visit.

He lists Alabama and Ohio State as "co-leaders" which anyone who is paying attention knows is not accurate...and keep in mind Alabama already has four linebacker commits including one inside backer, two outside and one guy they don't know where he will end up at yet...

I think those two (kwon/lattimore) would for sure be huge additions to this class but I still believe it's Prince.. I think a lot of people on here would agree that once this o-line class graduates there are going to be huge holes to fill with a huge experience and talent drop off with what we have coming back.

We need guys that are capable of filling holes right away. You can't expect that all 4 of these current verbals are going to make significant contributions right away as freshmen or that guys we have slated for those open spots are going to progress enough to be a dominating unit. So there is going to be a vacancy some where. The best way to fill a vacancy is w/ increased numbers at the position.

I think Prince is a guy, in a position of need, that has the body to fill a glaring void right away next year from the moment he steps on campus (and I mean no disrespect towards Kwon either b/c dude is jacked and looks like he could fill in tomorrow). I just feel we have a couple of young Lattimore's already on the roster that have similiar skill sets, that are capable of doing the same type of things on the football field next fall. Urban has recruited more play-maker type talent than we have seen on the OSU roster at the same time in a long time. There is only one ball, you need 5 o-linemen on the field all at once.

Urban has also recruited some stud DB's to step up right away once this current group moves on. The past 2 years of o-line classes on the other hand have been really weak to put it politely. i think that even with the schollie number crunch we find ourselves in, going after 6 o-linemen in this class, with Prince and Mavety still viable options, is the best way to ensure there won't be a huge drop off on the o-line next year.

JMO though, not saying you are wrong or that it isn't a fair argument. I'll tell you what, I'd take all 3, run and hide, and call it a day.

Go Bucks!!!!

If I could only have 1 player who is high on our board right now from the top 7 or 8 guys it would almost have to be Kwon. Why? He is an elite 5 star guy and I still consider the LB spot as being awfully thin. So was OL heading into this class but we already have 4 studs, if I had to add a 3 star OL to finish the class I wouldn't freak out. I almost consider Kwon a must get. IMO one of the top factors in our success in the 2013 season will come down to our LB play. We were dreadfully vulnerable at that spot last year and I don't really think the great 2013 (and current 2014) recruits totally fix that. Adding Kwon is huge.

I agree about there still being a need of depth at the LB position. The Top Factor for the success of the 2014 season will be o-line play (if Braxton doesn't leave early) and I think the LB issues will be some what solved by next season. The last 2 hauls of LB classes have been really solid and they will have had an entire season to get their feet wet and have a chance to anchor down a spot. Kwon would certainly fit into that LB rotation really nicely.
