LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

Considering he wants to enroll early and Jeremy Foley (UF's AD) said he expects a new coach to be hired in 2-2.5 weeks, it would seem to me OSU is in really really good shape here. If nothing else, it looks like OSU won't have to wait long on his decision, regardless of what it is.

I haven't heard any stories about the mom, is tOSU her preferred choice?
The opposite...she's the one they're gonna have to sell from what I gather. If it happens, this would be a major coup. Shazier is a stud and has the skills to contribute from day one.

Ryan is just another perfect example of why we don't bash recruits on this board.

A mere hours after the head coach of the school he intially chose decided to retire, he was on the phone with our coaching staff, trying to schedule a time to come in for a visit. We were a close second before, and both parties left on good terms. There's a good chance he might not have that good an impression of us if emotionally charged fans blast his decision publicly on the internet. That stuff doesn't just rub off. It's on there forever (ask TSUN). Instead, it seems like we've got a big time recruit pretty much falling into our laps.

Justin Boren, anybody?

Yep....and IMO recruits shouldn't be bashed on this board(or any board) for the simple reason that it's the wrong thing to do. As a Buckeye fan i'm glad we,seemingly, have a second chance with Ryan. I hope he makes the decision that's best for him.
