First. Congrats to Tibor for pissing in our cornflakes again. Nobody does it better than you, Tibs.

Second. I wasn't even alive then, so I can't really speak to how the game was played then. I can say though that it's pretty much a reach to draft a LB in the first round nowadays, unless you're talking about a revolutionary-type player like Ray Lewis or Lawrence Taylor.

Third. Fiu is the college football journalist I respect the most. His article is pretty stellar. The thing is, in his arguments he is appealing to the stupidity of the teams that make the picks rather than the lack of talent on the part of the individual players. Tibor no doubt though, was looking for a knee-jerk reaction out of us diehard Buckeye fans over the mention of Cousineau and Katzenmoyer. Nobody would've made the "Worst Picks" part of the column if they hadn't carved out a pretty decent college career for themselves, and both of those guys were great football players for the Bucks. In the end though, college gridiron success is what we all want the most. Do we want Buckeyes to succeed in the pros? Hell yeah! Do we forsake them if they don't quite catch on? Hell no! Archie Griffin is a prime example of that.

Fourth. Any "Worst Draft Pick" list that doesn't include David Klingler is bogus.

The list isn't #1 overall, but any 1st round pick.

Putting Don Rogers on this list is pretty low. It should be a list for those players that failed to perform up to expectations.
If you use his death as a reason for making the list then he'd have to be the #1 all time worst pick. And what about Ernie Davis? He passed away before he could ever play a down for the Browns and the Browns even made a huge trade to be able to get him. Couldn't that rate as the worst all time #1?
At any rate, this is bad journalism.

Guys, click on the link. Cousineau is named the worst #1 pick of all time, not the worst 1st round pick.

You guys must be misreading it and thinking that isi a countdown list, but it's not. Cousineau is #1 on the list because he was a #1 overall pick. If the list was just a ranking of the best and worst 1st round picks, how would Jerry Rice be below Michael Irvin? How would Ray Lewis be below Harris Barton?

His list is for the best and worst player picked at each slot in the draft. So Cousineau is #1 becuase he is the worst player ever picked with the #1 pick, not the worst first round pick. And ditto on down the list. This is a quote from the introduction to the article:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. Do you believe the article is saying:
A. Cousineau is the worst first round pick of all time
B. Cousineau is the worst #1 overall pick of all time
It's saying B, so if you have been saying that all along, then the misunderstanding is on my end.

Please excuse my stupidity.

As I said before, If death is the cause to be on this list then Ernie Davis should be there.
I'm sure it's the cause of death as to why Rogers on there. But I think that is wrong as it was impossible for the team to know of either's condition before the draft.
