LB Tuf Borland (3x Captain, 2021 Sugar Bowl Def POG)

OHIO STATE SENIOR LINEBACKER CHRIS WORLEY DOUBTFUL TO RETURN AFTER SUFFERING INJURY AGAINST ARMY

Chris Worley, Ohio State's starting middle linebacker, suffered a first half injury (i.e. a sprained foot) against Army and is doubtful to return.

He's spelled by redshirt freshman Tuf Borland, who has played extensively in the second half for the Buckeyes.

Tuf Borland Updates

+ Borland knew he would be rotating in, so he prepared all week with the intention of playing.

+ That being said, he played more snaps than he expected and he admitted to “feeling it” after the game.

+ The rest of the linebackers helped him throughout the game, giving him advice, adjustments, encouragement.

+ “It was great. I’m just so excited to be a part of this team.”

+ He was just trying to enjoy the moment after the game, so didn’t have much to say about competing for the job here on out. He said he hated to see Worley be set back with an injury.

Just sayin': This guy can make the plays; regardless whether it is 11 or 12, he needs more playing time.

I think we're going to see the same thing that happened to Weber happen to Worley...
Yes and no,

to me its different because Worley was never a Mike LB.. he was always an OLB.. but he and Baker are ~ the same size and play the same position so this was a way to try to get both on the field... now I'm not sure if we want to try a combo of Worley/Borland/Baker .. that leaves us kinda small at the LB...but thts up to Bill,Greg, and Urban

Yeah, Worley better get healthy real soon. If Tuf has another good game, Worley could be competing for an OLB spot.

Chris Worley 'questionable' | Tuf Borland OSU's DPOW

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said on Monday that Chris Worley is "questionable" for the Buckeyes' game against visiting UNLV this Saturday.

Worley, a fifth-year senior middle linebacker, suffered a sprained foot during OSU's 38-7 win over Army last week.

There has been some chatter that Worley could move back to outside linebacker -- where he started last season -- and Borland could emerge as the starting MLB.

Regardless of whether you consider him a true MLB or not, my point is that he was the starting MLB and his injury opened the door for his backup to step in and could remain as starter even after Worley recovers. Had Worley not gotten hurt he very likely would not have been jumped by Borland, just as Weber very likely would not have been jumped by Dobbins had Weber not tweaked his hamstring.
