LB Tuf Borland (3x Captain, 2021 Sugar Bowl Def POG)

I don't know what's been going on with Booker and Baker this year but LB corps does seem a lot better with Malik and Tuf while Worley shifts to a natural outside spot. Malik especially seems pretty decent at covering TEs and FBs... and Tuf is just a pure MLB... freeing up Worley to once again do damage as he's wont to do.

Call me optimistic but I think Harrison, Jones and Browning will step in just fine. OSU players raved about Brownings improvement over the bowl practices. Depth could be an issue if there are any further losses, but if Tuf comes back, you have him, Booker and Hilliard, who at least have significant game experience, Werner, who came on strong last year, and 3 talented true frosh LB's that could surprise.

Booker is leaving isn't he? I am not worried much about the players in the LB group personally. I think Browning, Jones, and Werner are going to be very good, not to mention we have Harrison, Hilliard, et al.

If I have a concern at LB, it is the fact that Bill Davis may be a turd? We watched some pretty good talent regress last year IMHO and make the same mistakes over and over, all of them the same mistakes, that they had never displayed previously. They appeared unprepared at times.

I also heard Booker is transferring to Cinci to play for Fick.

And I agree, we have Hilliard and Browning. The talent is there, let’s just see if Davis can help develop them.

Not sure the status on Booker. Originally, when the rumors 1st came out a month ago, he adamantly denied it and Meyer said as much in his 1st or 2nd spring practice presser, even saying that Booker's mom reached out to him wondering where all the rumors were stemming from. Meyer went on to say that Booker told him he's a "Buckeye for life" and not going anywhere. I'm not certain we have heard the end of this one yet.

I'm guessing Browning will be our opening day MLB. Too talented and explosive to keep off the field. Played really well in mop up duty last year and came on strong during bowl practices. Tuf will be missed though. He just has a knack for finding the ball, similiar to the way James Laurinaitis always found a way to get in on tackles. That part of the game can't be taught, it's instinctive and just desire to get there, similiar to Jae'Sean Tate grabbing rebounds amongst the trees at 6'4" tall.

Whatever happens with Booker, he's not likely to play MLB. He has incredible physical tools but is still trying to put it together. Ever sinc HS, there have been questions about his instincts and physicality for playing outside linebacker.

Agreed, though it sure was fun watching Chase Young moonlight back there

RE:????? I was a little lost too since nobody bothered to post an article or even surmise what Urban said.

Looks like Tuf is out for spring practice in it’s entirety with an Achilles.

https://ohiostate.247sports.com/Bol...-Tuf-Borland-suffers-serious-injury-116632043

Ohio State middle linebacker Tuf Borland suffered an Achilles injury in practice last week and will miss at least the remainder of spring practice.

Head coach Urban Meyer confirmed this news after the Buckeyes' practice on Monday.
