Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

So....if Lebron was 30 and not going to be 35 this season, maybe the AD trade makes a little more sense.

The clock is ticking on Lebron's career at this point. He's logged an insane amount of minutes and as we saw last year, it's taking longer for him to heal up. I'm sure some of that was due to the team being completely out of it as well.

They need another piece but aren't going to be able to get it since they are in cap hell. They still probably make the playoffs if everyone is relatively healthy but they lack the depth to do anything once there.

This is probably spot on. LeBron is an amazing athlete, but at 35 I doubt he can carry a team. With one more piece, I can think they’d be a true contender, but it’s hard to see how they could get another.

LeBron's 'Taco Tuesday' trademark filing denied

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' attempt to trademark the term "Taco Tuesday" has been denied, but according to James' team, he still accomplished the outcome he wanted from the application in the first place.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday refused the application filed by James' company LBJ Trademarks, explaining that "Taco Tuesday" is "a commonplace term."

"The applied-for mark is a commonplace term, message, or expression widely used by a variety of sources that merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognized concept or sentiment message," the USPTO wrote.

Now, the jersey James donned on the cover (he also wore the jersey for the majority of his junior season where he averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists a game) is on the block at Goldin Auctions.

Ken Goldin tells us he expects the jersey — which was given by LeBron to a long-time friend who held onto it ’til now — could sell for mid-six figures (think 300k, 400k, $500k+).

Yeah, pretty much fuck Lebron. James social conscious seems to abruptly come to a screeching halt the moment it interferes with his bank account. At least Michael Jordan was honest about his lack of caring about anything other than Michael Jordan.

James was asked about the situation before his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, played the Golden State Warriors in a pre-season game on Monday. “I don’t want to get into a ... feud with Daryl but I believe he wasn’t educated about the situation at hand and he spoke,” James said. “Just be careful what we tweet ... even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech. But there can be a lot of negative that comes with that too.”
