I know the move doesn't make a ton of sense from a basketball perspective, but I think the guy has made peace with the fact that he's got three rings instead of six. He's said multiple times that he's proven everything he needs to on the basketball court. Honestly, if he can continue to be 3/4 of the player he's been the last four years, he'll continue to rack up numbers and render the GOAT debate irrelevant. 15 seasons of Jordan vs. 20 seasons of LeBron is no longer a question, especially when you remember how bad Jordan was in Washington.

The Lakers aren't great now, but they can be, especially if they don't force a trade for Kawhi. Hold onto your young assets. Kawhi will come to LA in a year anyway. Sign Boogie Cousins to a one-year max and see how he fits with LeBron. You'll get eliminated early, but LeBron will be able to coach up the young guys. Next year the starting five could look like this:

Ball
Ingram
Kawhi
LeBron
Cousins/Lopez/DeAndre Jordan

Depending on how LeBron ages, that team could be better than Golden State. Brandon Ingram is going to be a star, and soon. Let's not discount the idea that Durant leaves Golden State for the Lakers if the Warriors are eliminated by Houston or Boston next season, either.

In any case, I think LeBron went to LA for business reasons. He wants to become a billionaire and make movies. He wants to own an NBA team one day. I feel tremendously lucky to have had him on my favorite team for 11 seasons. I wish him the best, and I'll be rooting for him.

Friends with a couple of life long laker fans... they aren’t happy, they do not like him oddly enough its for leaving Cleveland the first time. They think he’s a snake who will leave the first chance he gets if things dont go well.

I believe he’s in LA for the 4 years because like has been mention he’s got very little tire left on the treads. Eventually that body of his will start breaking down and it probably wont be pretty.

it's looking pretty likely with the one year deals that the lakers are signing, that they are banking on getting leonard after this season when he's a free agent, and depending on how much of a trim on salary he's willing to take, they might be able to squeeze him in with little roster movement, assuming some idiot team doesn't bail them out of that luol deng contract for some table scrap assets.

Duke hosts LeBron James, Jr for unofficial visit

Duke Basketball recruits the sons of college and professional basketball players quite frequently, with a number of NBA alumni's children opting to play for head coach Mike Krzyzewski. On the current roster, Justin Robinson (David Robinson), Antonio Vrankovic (Stojko Vrankovic), had dads who played professionally while Gary Trent the year before, and many others throughout the years have come through the Blue Devils' program. Now, another son of a famous basketball player has been linked to the Duke program despite his youth.

LeBron James, Jr., was reported to have an offer in waiting from Duke and Kentucky (he doesn't from Duke, as they don't offer scholarships to guys that young), but is starting to make waves in videos circulating on Overtime and BallIsLife, showing early signs that he'll be successful on the court like his father. Over the weekend, James and his AAU team, the North Coast Blue Chips, took in a tour of Cameron Indoor Stadium and a walk through of the K Center, Duke's practice facility adjacent to Cameron.

Despite being just 13 years old, "Bronny" stands near six feet tall and has been seen dunking in pregame warmups (and he's gotten close to dunking in a game).

Krzyzewski has one of the better relationships with Bronny James' dad of any coach currently at the head of a college program, as they were together for two gold medal winning Olympic teams with USA Basketball, but there is no guarantee that Krzyzewski will even still be coaching by the time James enrolls in college. And there's no guarantee that James will even be required to attend college as the one and done rule is expected to be amended by the time the Class of 2022 arrives in school. Bronny is in that class.
