Lee Corso (official thread)

:)This was on TheFAN today.

Not word for word, but he says Ginn is a better all around football player than Reggie Bush, and is the best all around football player in the country. Says Bush is a bit bigger, but Ginn has "more juice."

Also says he thinks Ohio State will run the table, but looks at Texas and Penn State as the toughest games.

I like Lee Corso.. He mentioned GameDay being in Columbus 9/10. Is this finalized yet?

Thanks fellas, peace!

I was on my way into Baltimore a few weeks ago listening to Mel Kiper's show and they had Beano on. He pretty much said the same thing, and that he thinks OSU will win the Big Ten. He actually said the Big Ten was strong this year if you can believe it.

Oh crap! Did they have to wheel out Beano again. Man -- every team he proclaims as world beaters always seems to come up short. Sort of like a walking AARP version of the SI jinx with chicken jowls.

My only consolation from this deeply saddening Beano sighting is that he will second guess himself ten times over before the season begins.

Actually, in 2002 Beano was the only guy to predict the Bucks as national champs preseason. He was also one of the only people in the country predicting us to win the Fiesta over Miami when the odds came out. Other than that though he's pretty much wasted on words.

The golf course at Michigan is a great place for ESPN Gameday to be on 9/10/05. Corso, Herbstreit and Fowler should enjoy themselves covering the two winner teams playing in the shithouse that day. I love the headline ESPN chose while reporting Butch Reynolds' hiring:

Ex-world record holder tested postive for 'roids in '90

But there is no hidden agaenda at ESPN towards Ohio State - rrrriiiiiiiigggggggggttttttttttttt!

corso hasn't been all that bad to us from what i have heard. while i agree that he has bashed us a little harder than needed at times. but i wouldn't lump him in with the others at espin.

while i find him largely annoying, he generally uses some form of logic for the most part.

Do they begin every article about Babe Ruth as "Ex-HR King..."? I don't think so.

That's why Tress hired him, of course - to be the 'roid and "speed" coach!
I agree - let them have GameDay at AA that day, then they can beg OSU to come in for the Iowa game after we thump the hell out of Texas.

Gameday location does it really matter?

Does it really help the program to have Gameday in Columbus?

I think it would have to help ESPN more than the school. As far as I'm concerned, give ESPN's gameday a 1-year cooling off period. Let them think about the consequences.

What is ESPN going to do if we respectfully tell them to head elsewhere, drag us through the mud more? As far as I am concerned it is not an open invitation for them to be at OSU and they have not earned the right.
