Tanned Fat Looks Better
Are all of these live news feeds that are being posted by Coach going to be put into thier respective threads or will they just remain where they are? For example, will the one about Claytor be moved into the Claytor thread?

Not sure how it works, but my guess is the news bot searches for various terms and conditions and it happened to stumble across BC tonight. The time issue of the posts, however, I have no idea about.

In any case, I know I PMd clarity, and I doubt I'm the only one... I suspect he'll look in to it when he can.

It's a new system, and like all new systems it'll need the bugs ironed out.

And when the bugs are worked out, this will be another great feature IMO, continuing to make BP the best around...

I'm not sure I fixed anything, but I made a few changes. I set the Thread Cutoff to 3 days (from 30). That should (I hope) prevent the Live News Forum from pulling up RSS feeds that are more than 3 days old (or ones that have been updated in that timeframe). I changed the Top 'X' Forum Exclusions to include the Live News Feeds forum. That should prevent the Threads from displaying on the "Top" lists. Lastly I changed the vBadvanced Homepage Settings to (hopefully, but I don't think it worked) prevent those same threads from displaying on the "New Posts" link. Doesn't look like that fixes the "New Posts" problem, but it was the only setting I can see that 'might' have corrected the problem. Must be something else (if it is even possible to control the forums/threads listed in the "New Posts").

Now the Live News Feeds may not even be visible anywhere at BP. Time for Clarity to work his magic. :) I would guess the time discrepency is an issue from the site 'pushing' the RSS feed to us. I'm guessing the clock on their server is incorrectly set.

The following is for Clarity (or any admin) if the settings need to be switched back at some point.

External Data Provider > Thread Cutoff > 3 (days)
(This was set to 30 days. Software 'Help' suggests a setting of 1 day if we are receiving 15 or more feeds per day. That might be a better setting. Anyone know how many 'feeds' we have been getting?)

Top 'X' Stats by InfiniteWebby > Excluded Forums > 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 28, 41, 42, 70, 127
(I removed Forum #134 from that list. That is the Live News Feeds forum.)

vBadvanced Homepage Settings > Latest Threads & Polls Excluded Forums > 12, 15, 17, 22, 25, 26, 27, 32, 134
(I added Forum #134 to that list. That is the Live News Feeds forum. Don't think this affects the "New Posts" link ... Oh well, I tried.)
