Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Sounds like a quality character guy too in that he didn't want to room with a rapist. It's just too bad that Urban Meyer forced him to stay in that bad roommate situation.
Yes. I'm sure you have the whole story, as recruits from the west coast who want to transfer to the west coast always tell the truth. Really, if there is one steady and consistent theme in recruiting, it is "always listen to the recruit, as they always tell the truth."

Ah yes. Defending your team by way of almost accusing a kid of lying about not wanting to chill with a rapist. Interesting hill to die on. Not as crazy as "the FBI told Tressel to lie", but way more disgusting.

In addition to Johnson, defensive lineman Reuben Jones (HERE), cornerback Myles Sims (HERE), cornerback Benjamin St-Juste (HERE) and offensive lineman Nolan Ulizio (HERE) have all left Ann Arbor this offseason. Sims, St-Juste and Ulizio have since found new homes at Georgia Tech, Minnesota and Pitt, respectively.
The article neglects to mention former 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon, who transferred to Tennessee at the end of the 2018 season. So Michigan has now lost six transfers from their 2018 squad.

The Longhorns just wrapped up the spring semester, and one of the early enrollees from the 2019 recruiting class is currently weighing his options to transfer out of the program. Horns247 has learned through multiple sources that former five-star wide receiver and early enrollee Bru McCoy is considering transferring from Texas to USC. Horns247 partner site, USCFootball.com, was first to report the news of McCoy's potential transfer.

According to multiple Horns247 sources, both close to McCoy and Texas, McCoy is weighing his options to potentially enter the NCAA transfer portal and make a move from Texas back to USC.

5*, top 50 recruit (CB) Chris Steele is already entering the transfer portal after being an early enrollee at UF.

He was placed in a dorm room with Jalon Jones who has now been accused of sexual assault. Apparently Steele was uncomfortable with the roommate situation and asked the coaching staff to be moved away from Jones. The staff wouldn’t accommodate him.

Steele is from California. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. He will almost assuredly be declared immediately eligible. He was already taking 1st team reps at UF. He’s a stud.....he will have his pick of schools.

Then it sounds like UF is just stupid.

SKULL SESSION: OHIO STATE DOESN'T OVERSPEND IN RECRUITING, URBAN MEYER NOT A FAN OF TRANSFER PORTALS, AND EARLY POINT SPREADS

URBAN VS. THE TRANSFER PORTAL.
I'm sure there have been more than a few times Urban Meyer has already missed coaching the Buckeyes, but I'm equally sure there have been more than a few times already that he's been extremely glad Ryan Day has to deal with some bullshit instead of him.

One huge one: The transfer portal.

From Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch:

Meyer on what’s been the easiest thing to let go of from being a coach: “The transfer portal.”

He described as “alarming” the revolving door of quarterbacks around the country, including at Ohio State.

“I don’t understand it,” he said.

None of Ohio State’s current quarterbacks were on the roster a year ago. Again, he alluded to the example of Cardale Jones in 2014.

“It’s hard to believe we won a national title with a third-string quarterback and not many have third-string quarterbacks,” Meyer said. “It’s not unique to Ohio State. It’s a national issue.”

He said he agrees that graduates should be able to transfer, as Joe Burrow did last year from Ohio State to LSU.

“I think that’s a good opportunity,” he said.

The irony of this is that the transfer portal gave Ohio State a kid that seems by all accounts Meyer's wet dream of a quarterback, with his arm and running ability.:gagnam: Maybe he hates the transfer portal, but I guarantee he wouldn't have hated Justin Fields as his signal caller.

Scott Frost’s first Nebraska commit enters transfer database

After significant roster churn during Scott Frost‘s first year in Lincoln, it’s been quiet, relatively speaking, on the transfer front for Nebraska this year. So, of course, there is now some further 2019 roster churning on which to note.

Amidst significant speculation about his future, an NU official has confirmed that the name of CJ Smith is now listed in the NCAA transfer database. As Smith was ticketed for significant playing time in 2019, it’s unclear what triggered the defensive back’s decision to enter the portal.
