Los Angeles Lakers (17x NBA Champions)

I won a math debate
So, not looking bad, I realize it's still early in the season but so far the guys are playing really good team basketball.

Bynum is looking great this year, he shoots well, blocks well and just collects rebounds, the key to running the triangle is a good center.

Kobe Bryant seems to have stepped back a bit and let his teammates work with him instead of just throwing up 50 shots a game. He's taking smarter shots, he's getting more assists, he actually trusts his teammates to make shots which is a huge step for him as a player.

Derrick Fisher is bringing a lot of energy to the team, it shows, he's always moving, never stops running and never gives up on a play.

They are still young, but the bench is actually producing unlike recent Lakers teams where the bench players came in and you just hoped they didn't let the other team get too far ahead.

I gotta say, so far, I am pleasantly surprised, with all the drama that built in the beginning with the whole Kobe trade saga I was afraid that this team was going to be a wash, but if they stay healthy, we might actually get past the first round of the playoffs this year.

Floor Seats watching the Lakers...

I agree with that post... All of SoCal is laker land for sure, and its going to be fun to see these guys play better and better team ball down the stretch.
Now that Buckeye season is over I can think about watching some hoops between trips to Tahoe, or Mammoth, or wherever the fresh powder lies.
But what is going to really be fun to see is if these guys can beat a healthy San Antonio team, and if they can continue to dominate Phx.

We'll see what happens, so far they have been impressing me. I was expecting them to lose to New Orleans, but they dominated, so I was expecting a hangover from that win tonight but they just kept up the pace. This is a young team, so I still half expect that next game let down. I will say, I still want to reach through my tv and boot Kwame back to the bench every time he comes in though.

I remember last year I was frustrated that they didn't pull the Bynum and Odom for Kidd trade, but looking at where we are now I think Kupchak may have had the right idea. 17 rebounds tonight, it's good to see the second chances that opposing teams got last year reduced this year, it's also good to see the turnovers way down.

Let's just hope we can avoid injury.

2 Months without Andrew Bynum... this will be ugly :( There is no defense on the court right now, it's in the third quarter and it's just back and forth, I have to say I had hoped that Kwame Brown would step up, but then I sit back and remember that he's Kwame and he's never once "stepped up" to anything :smash: The Sonics are just running down the middle for layups, fortunately the defense isn't there on either side. The bench has some impressive play, the kids have 27 points so far which is great, we've never been a deep team, so that's a great change this year.

Sweet game. I love the way it played. Not too much fouling.... back and forth. Kobe showing Durant how it's done on both sides of the court (learn young man). Classic, exactly why he's the best player in the league. With Bynum out, they're going to have to get Turiaf more involved, cause Kwame's not the answer. These games are going to tired them out. The Bucks ran back on them, Memphis came back last night and now the young Sonics taking them to overtime.
