If you ding him back then you can at least lower his rating and his attempts will return to having no impact if he's lowered far enough. He's somehow gained a decent rep level (I think it's due to the efforts of Tibor and Roger Moore.)

He dinged me for some bullshit reasons and I dinged him back. I impacted his rating enough that he dropped a rep level. If everyone else responds to his bullshit dings similarly, then he will return to being a lowly, no-clout troll. That's how the rep system keeps simpletons like LHM in check. But it's up to each of us to ensure that it works.

To be clear, I don't retaliate for legitimate dings. However, when some lameass dings me and says something like "Louis here: I always wanted to punch Brutus in the head." then I draw the line I smack the punkass back. I can be tolerant to a point, but I'm beginning to think that LHM's time on this board is nearing it's end.

brut.....i agree...i have only dinged a poster once and that was louis after i found that he had nailed me three times prior b/c of my political views...

i think i speak for 99% of this board in saying that handing out negative points is a poor reflection on yourself as a poster......or a proper reflection considering who is prevalent in handing out negative shit....

Brut--that makes sense. I have dinged him once before, (for his ridiculous attempts at calling someone racist, I think), and may again, especially in light of how the rep system works. Either way, though, I enjoy calling him out in public as well. I'm just sick and tired of his bullshit antics and juvenile insults. At least when Mili or DiHard insult someone it's funny. Hopefully he will be gone soon, forever. You can't say he hasn't earned it.

You can always do both. Call him out and ding him. Also, since he nailed me multiple times today, I dinged him and then gave props to other posters that I figured were some of his other victims. This allowed me to ding him multiple times as well.

The rep system really will work if we use it properly. If someone uses it for bullshit reasons then you should retaliate. If you don't, then they'll keep doing it. It's similar to dealing with bullies. If you don't stop them, then they won't change their ways.

The white square/jewel means that the poster doesn't have enough "clout" or reputation level himself to affect your reputation level. They have tried to add/subtract to your reputation but were unable to due to low or no reputation points of their own. Hard to tell if a white square was intended to be positive or negative as no points are awarded either way.
