COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Ohio State baseball team travels to No. 22 Louisville and Dayton for a pair of midweek games before hosting Purdue this weekend to open the Big Ten slate. The Buckeyes take on the Cardinals at 6 p.m. Tuesday and then travel to Dayton for a 3 p.m. game Wednesday.

Ohio State is 10-7 on the season after taking two of three games against Austin Peay last weekend. The Buckeyes won, 4-3, in 13 innings Friday and fell, 7-2, in 10 innings Saturday before winning the rubber game, 7-3, Sunday.

SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
Louisville enters the week with a 14-6 overall record after sweeping Ball State in a three-game set over the weekend. The Cardinals are batting .326 as a team, led by Ty Young with a .440 average and Nick Ratajczak at .416. Justin Amlung is 3-2 with a 3.06 ERA on the mound for Louisville.

The Buckeyes trail the all-time series between the two schools, 7-3. Louisville won the last meeting, a 2-0 decision in the Big Ten/Big East Challenge in 2011.

SCOUTING DAYTON
Dayton is 7-12 on the year after winning three of four games at home over the weekend. A.J. Ryan leads the Flyers with a .364 batting average while Bobby Glover is the main power threat in the Dayton lineup, batting .341 with six doubles, three triples and four long balls. Mike Hauschild is 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA on the mound for the Flyers.

Ohio State holds a 16-3 lead in the all-time series, with the Buckeyes taking the last meeting in 2004.

Louisville has an absolutely beautiful ballpark. Should be great weather tonight as well. Their park, Papajohns Stadium and Churchill Downs are all on the same block

It is a house of horrors for us. After tonight's 20-0 loss, we have been outscored 53-12 in 3 games there.

beat Dayton 11-7, good to get a win after the 20-0 romping they took yesterday

Yep..nice rebound win. Greve was sharp..7IP 7ks 1 BB 2ER
And so was Fath...1.1 IP 3Ks 0BB

On the flip side...Armstrong 0.2IP 3BB 5R 0ER 1WP
In fairness to Armstrong, the runs were unearned, but he did give up a HR and was wild. He continues to struggle throwing strikes.

Good to see Mike Carroll get a couple of two out RBIs. We really need him to start hitting.

Greg Solomon hit his second HR of the year...both solo shots. Of the 13 HRs we've hit as a team, 10 have been solo.

Dayton pitchers surrendered 11 walks.

Purdue, the nations top hitting team (.356), looms. Nobody in their lineup is hitting below .326. It'll be interesting to see how our pitching holds up. It'll also be interesting to see if we can put any runs on the board. We really struggle against guys who can throw strikes, and Purdue's pitching staff does just that. They only surrender about 3 walks per 9 Innings as a staff.
