LSU Baseball (official thread)

My brother-in-law had a heart attack back in mid-December. Came as a surprise as well. He is carrying a little extra weight but his blood pressure and cholesterol were excellent. His cardiologists don't really have an answer as to why he had one to begin with. He was also very active. Very odd to say the least.

All the best with your recovery.

hospital almost released me early.

i didn’t even have the classic heart attack symptoms. just felt like i was going to pass out for a couple minutes. then started sweating profusely for no reason. once that passed, i felt utterly exhausted. Like completely and totally drained of all energy.
Family dr suggested i go to ER to get checked out rather than his facility.

every test the ran (blood pressure, pulse-ox, ekg, untrasound) all game back “normal”.
had one enzyme in my blood work that was elevated, and only slightly.

er doc said looking like it was stress or anxiety related. keep me long enough for one more round of blood work. if everything normal (as expected), they were going to let me go.

next round of blood work came back and that same enzyme was now off the charts high.

so they rushed me down y’all to the Cath Lab. prepping me for procedure while rolling me down the hall.

told me after the fact that i was having a heart attack. and were shocked i had no traditional symptoms of a heart attack.

they put stent in the 100% blockage and scheduled me to fix other blockages once i got past the stress of the emergency procedure.

Btw I've had 5 stents and 3 ops for them, first one was in 2002, not a big deal and the good news is that you might even live another 20 years, maybe, possibly.

well i’ll “only” have 3 stents and 2 procedures.

honestly, this shit sucks.
i haven’t felt normal since sometime that morning pre-heart attack.

this diet is fucking torture. like actual literal torture.
the shit i’m allowed to eat regularly, does not fill me up. so i’m hungry all the damn time.
going to bed hungry is an absolutely miserable feeling.

Louisiana University (Monroe) visits Baton Rouge tomorrow (Feb 15) to take on the Louisiana State Bengal Tigers in their College Baseball opener. LSU is currently ranked #2 in the country. The Warhawks look to improve on their 2018 record of 23-31.

From the ULM athletic site

MONROE, La. – Louisiana cooks have a knack for taking a variety of ingredients and creating amazing one-pot dishes.

ULM coach Michael Federico is stirring up his own version of baseball gumbo at Warhawk Field this season with a new-look roster, featuring 27 newcomers representing 13 states along with two players from Canada.

"I think our guys have done a good job of accepting the diversity that we have here," Federico said this week. "We have people from all over the country and two Canadians as well. They've accepted that and the biggest thing they've instilled in each other is, 'Hey, we came here to work. We came here because we wanted to be here, and we want to make this place great again.'"

3-0 this weekend.

12-7 over ULM Friday night
6-5 over Army on Saturday
17-5 over Air Force today.

couple Freshmen got starts on the bump this weekend and looked pretty damn good.
also got Walker back for first time since late 2017 season, and he looked solid as well.

winds were blowing out most of weekend (odd for this early in season) so LSU showed off some power in the lineup.

Cabrera and Duplantis each hit two dingers Friday night.
Beloso hit a walk off dong on Saturday
Bianco launched a bomb today.
