LSU Tigers (official thread)

Tom Herman is a step below top level guy. That would be a great get. But you're correct in saying you're not going to get a Jimbo Fisher making a lateral move.

I think Herman would be a perfect fit. Outside of LA, LSU recruits TX the hardest and he has so many inroads. That, and LSU has all the talent in the world. They just need a coach who's able to develop a QB. He's pretty good in that area.

Herman is not a step below anybody. Five of his last six games have been against ranked opponents, and he's won those five: #25 8-1 Memphis, #16 9-1 Navy, #20 10-2 Temple, #9 10-2 Florida St, and #3 Oklahoma. His last four consecutive victories have all been by double digits.

The proof is in the pudding, and this goes back to his time at Ohio State. TH prepares a team and coaches as well as anybody in the country. One stat I like to look at that tells a lot about the quality of a staff: Last season Houston outscored its opponents 141-45 in the 3rd quarter. Last Saturday Houston outscored Oklahoma 14-0 in the 3rd quarter. These are the 3rd quarter points scored by all 15 opponents TH has coached against: 0 3 0 7 0 0 0 0 8 7 3 3 7 7 0

Herman is great. His DC Todd Orlando is pretty dang good too.

I wasn't referring to Tom Herman the coach. Rather, Tom Herman, the current coach of the Houston Cougars. So was referring to the school he is at.

to give an example of just how low we've sunk in our QB situation.

LSU fans are absolutely stoked to see Danny Etling get the start tonight.

you know that guy who couldn't win the starting gig at that offensive powerhouse called Purdue.
the dude who completed exactly 50% of his passes last week for 100yds.

yep. him. and he's a freaking huge upgrade over what we had.

yep, the guy starting at Florida is the feller that beat out Etling for the starting gig and forced him to transfer.
don't where the guy who beat the Florida guy is now, but that's why he transferred as well.

After Purdue got off to a 1-3 start last season Hazell decided to start playing some of the younger guys and switched to RS Frosh David Blough at QB. When Blough and the hapless Boilermakers carved up Nebraska's blackshirts like a pumpkin on Halloween, Austin Appleby rode out the year and left amicably as a graduate transfer for Florida.

What the fuck?! Just because of some water? WE WANT FOOTBAW! WE WANT FOOTBAW!

according to media, as early as 2 days ago, LSU offered to host, or travel elsewhere to get the game in.
Florida wanted it at home and kept pushing back the deadline for a decision.
ultimately waited too damn long as now it isn't feasible for LSU to travel in or UF to travel out.

we don't have the same bye week either so rescheduling would be a tall task (not 100% ruled out yet).

allegedly LSU offered to play the game Sat/Sun/Mon in either Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Gainesville.
went so far as to secure hotels in Baton Rouge and Nola, and even offered UF to use the LSU plane if needed.

I haven't even looked, but I'm sure you both play some chump 1AA team late in the year. Play your game first, then play the 1AA game the same day.
