LSU Tigers (official thread)

Alcohol and Beverage Control. State run liquor stores. Anything stronger than beer or wine has to be purchased in one of these stores. In Maryland you can't buy beer or wine in a grocery store. Liquor store carries everything. Pennsylvania also has weird laws rerading the sale of alcohol.

It threw me for a loop when i visited MD. Must have spent 5 minutes looking for beer in the grocery store... thought i was going crazy.
Blue law "after 12/2/whatever" and "no Sunday" nonsense is common... and ive been to WA where the hard stuff isnt in box stores... but MD is over the top.

i was working nights in Tejas.
got off work at 6am, stopped to grab some beer on way back to Apartment.

girl looked at me like i was crazy and said “you know damn well i can’t sell that to you right now”.

my response was simply “um, what?”

that’s when i found out it was state law that you could not buy alcohol before 7:00am.
because heaven forbid some godless heathen start drinking at 6:30 instead of 7:00.

Or more likely continue drinking at 6:30 after running out at 5:30 and running to the store to get more...

Can't buy it from 1AM to 6 AM in Ohio. But we used to bribe the dude at the carryout. "Here's an extra $10. Just ring it up at 6."
