LSU Tigers (official thread)

to add to that:

the list schools that would hire him away from LSU is not a long one.
of those schools, the list that could hire him away from LSU is even shorter.

it would take multiple Championship caliber seasons for O to have more leverage than LSU in contract negotiations.

i trust our current AD a lot more than our old one to make the right call here.

a long term heavy buyout contract would be just dumb at this point as it isn’t even remotely necessary to keep him.
and it’s not needed for recruiting purposes either, because he’s doing just fine without it right now.
Is there ANY school on he list of could? Sure, a few have the money, but it seems like he's home. My impression is that he's going to be as good as his assistants, but not good enough himself to overcome average assistants, over the long term. He caught lightning with Ensminger (sp?) and Brady and we'll see how consistent he can be.

one.
and they will most likely have an opening this year.

“I will be a USC Trojan forever, and, I don’t know what they’re thinking, but the door to come back there is always open in my mind,” Orgeron says.

“I love the people there. I’m with my family now, but I miss my family there. I miss ‘em right now. In the belly.”

these were quotes by O while he was unemployed. Sitting in the stands of a high school football stadium about an hour from Baton Rouge.

LSU was never “home” for him. It was never his dream job. Until he saw the marketing of “One of Us” as his way in.

Yeah I'd cool it on extensions/raises until we see what LSU is without Burrow lol

LSU PLAYERS CLAMORING FOR BAMA RECRUITS TO COME TO BATON ROUGE

Following LSU's win over Alabama on Saturday, the Tigers ran over to where the Alabama recruiting section sits and gave their own pitch as to why they should play for LSU instead of the Crimson Tide.

We've talked about Ohio State commits doing their part in recruiting other Buckeye targets. Current LSU players are apparently doing the same.

Ed Orgeron sorry cussing of Alabama went public, not sorry for cussing Alabama

Rightly so, this is one of those “sorry/not sorry” moments for a head football coach.

In the latest Game of the Century, LSU tossed that eight-game-losing-streak albatross off its back in resounding fashion Saturday afternoon, thoroughly outclassing Alabama in its own house in a matchup of the second- and third-ranked teams in the country. In a video that went viral — captured and posted on social media by a Tigers football player — a jubilant Ed Orgeron was heard in the postgame locker room lobbing multiple expletives in the general direction of his vanquished foes.

“We’re going to beat their ass in recruiting. We’re going to beat their ass every time they see us. You understand that? Roll Tide what? F*** you.”

#1. Coach O basically summed up the feelings of every college football fan outside of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
#2. Get that man some smoked boudin, baby.
#3. If Bammer didn't think it was a rivalry before, guess what...game on.
