luke fickel named DC of UC

footballscoop.com

(click "scoop" and then skim down to Cinncinnati)... some of their stuff is "we hear", others are stated... this was stated....

My father in-law is a coach and he checks it on a frequent basis... I've never heard of the site, however he said they tend to be true, however they have posted "what they hear", but they tend to state that as well (state that that is what they hear, as opposed to already closed deals)...

Sorry for not posted the link...

If so, it seems pretty early in his career to get a position like that. To go from special teams coordinator and helping with the d-line to defesive coordinator is a big jump. Good luck to Coach Fickel if true.

cox,

That is what I thought as well... he is young to be a DC.... it also said that some GA's/interns are going with him...

On that note, Steve Tovar is a current intern and he got the Army or Airforce (don't recal which one) LB coaching spot.... good for him (the Tovar news is from a local Columbus TV news channel (don't recall if it was ABC, NBC, or CBS) on the late news....

I bet Tovar is going to wish he waited, since he could have had a similar job here, very likely.
