well....lets say a crazy fan at....lets say a tennis event.....maybe has a knife.....and maybe decides to stab a famous tennis player.....

would you go in the stands after him/her??

not sure of your point here blue balls......

Certainly, especially knowing that the German courts would fail to convict the SOB.

I'll say it again - for the very last time. What Artest did was not the right thing to do. Regardless, I hold the fan who threw the cup just as accountable (if not more) for inciting the riot as I do Artest et al. Therefore, since the fans have yet to be reprimanded, I sympathize with the players. I also already explained why I like Artest as a player. It's simply a matter of taste. You say tomato, I say go fuck yourself.

By the way, di - if you would like to beat the hell out of my grandmother, that would be great. She lives in Trenton, NJ.

And Tib, any time you want to go toe-to-toe on knowledge of the game, you just let me know.

well....if your grandmother lives in trenton she can prolly still kick my ass....

has it been mentioned yet that the "beer throwing" low life has a history that makes artest look like a choir boy...?? if so....my fault for not reading....

Yeah, I saw the interview with him (John Green) on Good Morning America. He has a felony assault, a couple DUIs, etc. Real cool guy. His little non-denial denial of throwing the cup ("The cup came flying from around where I was sitting--we were all surprised when it hit him") was hysterical because he and his fuckstick attorney just kept saying, "Look at the tape. The tape shows everything." Fucking right, jerkoff. He also wouldn't fess up to sucker punching Artest, and kept whining about getting kicked. Like I said, I can't wait for him to lose both lawsuits.

ok, ive changed my tune thanks to shithead simmons....but can we all stop saying artest went and assaulted an innocent bystander as if he saw who it was but went after the wrong guy on purpose?

i understand it's a small hair to split compared to the whole fiasco, but you guys are painting him to be some bully in the school yard that beat up the scrawny kid on purpose to make himself look tough.

So if some guy comes over, and beats the hell out of you for something someone else did, as long as he thought it was you, that's ok with you?

It was obvious that Artest had no idea who threw the cup, because he went after the wrong guy and he was looking at the rafters making an ass of himself when the cup hit him. So, he had no idea who he was attacking and he didn't care. So, it's just as bad as if he attacked the wrong guy on purpose. Because he basically did just that.

Uh, sure bryant. the fact that you can confuse KG with Artest shows your lack of knowledge. Maybe you're confusing KG with Randy Moss. Well, they do play in the same city. :roll1:

What I said, smart guy, was that KG might have reacted similarly. I went on to say that there's no real way of knowing, and that to speculate on whether other players would or would not have gone into the stands is basically useless. Shaq said that he would have, and other players around the league echo the sentiment that they understand why Artest did what he did. I understand that you're just trying to rile me up, but you could at least construct a solid argument.

Uh, nice try. But Simmons was referring to the act of laying on the scorer's table acting like an ass, not the act of charging the fan. Maybe you need reading comprehension lessons too?

" Second, who the heck would defiantly lie on a scorer's table like that? Would Grant Hill have done that? KG? Dwyane Wade? Steve Nash? Anyone rational?"

If I were you, I'd be riled up at my own inability to read. :roll1:

Doesn't really make a difference either way. It's still impossible to speculate on what other players would have done. I do find it amusing, though, that Artest can't seem to win at all here. He gets hit in the face by Wallace, and he's criticized for lying down on the scorer's table? I can't think of anything less defiant - maybe running into the locker room and cowering in a corner. I remain impressed by the amount of self-restraint Artest exercised up until the fan crossed the line.

Maybe going back to the bench? :roll1:
your arguments are comical.
The fact that you can speculate that a player like Grant Hill or KG would act so foolishly is shocking for a supposed NBA fan.

I've seen a lot of fights in a lot of different sports, and I've never once seen a guy take a hit like Artest did from Wallace and then just sit down on the bench. You're a doctor - you should know that men have these things called testicles that make it hard to back down when you get directly challenged.

Go back to the bench. :slappy: Totally fucking unrealistic.

___

You're right, buckzip. He didn't want to fight Wallace, so he went charging immediately into the stands where the angelic fucking fans were sipping chocolate milk and waiting calmly for the game to end.

Good fucking christ this is funny.
