The running game is interesting. There's things about it I like and things I don't. The dline will be very active in shedding blocks. However sometimes they're a bit too active because I was stopped quite a few times in 22 power sets
doing against the nickel or dime for only 2-3 yards. Yes, DE's and OLB's will get after the QB when they're flushed from the pocket. Pass rush leaves something to be desired, unless of course you're manually controlling a DE or DT. The pass coverage is much improved on the backend. Safeties will attack the ball in the air and even mediocre DB's will get a pick if you hang it out there. Downfield passing has to be on time and against the right coverage or you will throw a pick. Some of the underneath stuff is still too high percentage for my liking, but I do appreciate the fact that RB's and WR's can't stop, cut on a dime and change direction back to full speed in one more.

Overall I feel I'll be even that much more dominant on defense in this version.

So yeah, everything I said... totally wrong. I'm going to trade this piece of shit back in today. The version I played on PS4 feels and plays way different than 360. When I got to use the PS4 at the Madden tourney defenders overall seemed to have more awareness. No more throwing down the seam every fucking play and a linebacker acting all herpa derpa. Likewise with safeties, they would attack the ball in air and not just stand there when a WR crosses their face. Another thing I liked was that it wasn't guarantee that medicore WR would catch a slant to immediately be pounded by a safety and somehow hang onto the ball.

The 360 version? None of that shit. In fact, defensively speaking it might be even worse than Madden 25. Especially if you're using a 3-4 over defense. I won't get into specifics, but the Y button is fucking broke. Defenders simply do not go for the ball at all. They don't even attempt to swat it down. 50/50 balls are completions 70% of the time, keep in mind, I'm talking about completions made on the regular against Joe Haden.

The locomotion system on the new gen consoles that doesn't allow for RB's to do whatever the fuck they want?... Also, does not exist on the 360 version. Frank Gore was able to stop on a dime on the weakside of the formation, cut at a 90 degree angle and pick up 20 yards (because we know the outside contain doesn't fucking work) and hardly anyone touched him. Pass rush is non existent unless you call pass and spread out your dline. If you don't play as the DT, you won't be getting pressure up the middle. Man coverage is still pretty fucked, so there's that good news. On trips you can still throw to the slot receiver down the seam without the safety even breathing in his direction. Oh, you can motion out Chris Johnson tight to the formation and he'll beat you every time because you can't check him at the line. Did I mention that the Y button was broke? Seriously, defenders drop the easiest interceptions. For a game that's already offensive heavy, the developers sure love to shit on people who like defense.

Fuck this nonsense. I'm getting what money back that I can. Keep this perspective, I started out 4-0 online using the Browns. Still found ways to complain about this game, its THAT bad.

So you're saying it's good on ps4 and bad on 360 right

There's a few glitches I've noticed so far. On 4th down (in user games) the game assumes the offense is punting and shows special teams as the selection even if you are going for it. Also, there's a cutscene before going to play selection that right after it's finished, it blacks out your plays. When you pick one of the blacked out plays it breaks the huddle, then black screen. It stays like that, forcing you to restart. I haven't experienced this against a user, but I did have it happen once against a CPU opponent.

Aside from that, I'm loving the game on XBox One.

So many dummies on the Ultimate Team markets, too.

I actually really like this version of Madden and think it's probably the best version yet. Everything has been smooth, no glitch picks or anything like that. Stats are realistic too. I'm beating opponents handily, but not like 73-0. Like 28-17. I'll end up with 250-300 yards passing, 150 yards rushing. Obviously good, but not ridiculous. I play for the off-field stuff as much as I do actual games, so that works for me.

I do scouting, player progression, signing, drafting and try to do well at all of it. Always have. By year 5 of a franchise I'm usually sitting on a ridiculously good roster and nobody is older than 27. It's fun.

Well done, EA.

Now don't fuck up NHL 15 like I'm afraid you are doing. I've heard rumors.

NHL 15 is toast (at least for X1&PS4). They stripped the good modes out of it. Took out EASHL and Connected GM modes. Also only basics in Be a Pro and offline GM Mode. Check out the NHL Operation Sports forum for all the info. It's really sad because they had 2 years.

The graphics and presentation are pretty good though

Although one issue I have with Madden is a first. Not really a problem I guess, just an odd tendency. I always have a ton of picks in Madden because I always load up on good corners and play lots of man, and blitz the hell out of the QB. They usually hurry their throws and I have a guy with like 12-17 INTs and another with 8-10. I have two INTs total in six games so far. I haven't changed my play style and I have good DBs. Just weird. Sacks are a little harder to get too, but I'm still pressuring just fine.

The opposing QB's stat line is always something strange like 17-21, 104 yards, 1 TD. Hilariously inefficient with one random 30 yard TD where 6 players miss tackles. But I can't force turnovers.

Good to see unstoppable QB mode still exists for the computer. Jay Cutler has a shitty cast of WRs but is 20/21 with 300 yards and 2 TDs in 3 fucking quarters. Doesn't matter what I do. He's the greatest player of all time.

Fucking stupid

Have to adjust the sliders in the worst way. Otherwise you'll get no pass rush, CPU will average 85% completions, DB's won't go after the ball, and off tackle runs are impossible to stop using any type of 4-3 defense.

The stats had been pretty decent so far though.. They'd have a high completion %, but they'd just do dump offs. I can deal with that. Cutler was revolutionizing the game of football four a few quarters. I ended up winning the game. Just ran unless I had to throw and kept them to three or four possessions in the second half. I won by a field goal.
