I haven't bought a Madden for quote a few years, and this year to get my football fix, looks like I'm dropping NCAA and going back to Madden.

BROWNS CHAMPIONSHIP, HERE WE COME!

Madden 25 E3 Impressions

There were batted balls at the line of scrimmage, some pop up and make you squirm a little hoping it doesn't get intercepted. I actually had one that popped up and landed in the hands of my running back in stride, over his shoulder for a touchdown. It was actually pretty damn cool to watch. QB's will also get their arm hit, which causes errant throws.

Cont...

Sounds like some good improvements!

Importing NCAA classes is back. I can't believe EA took this out last year. I think I played three games in my Browns franchise before I just put it down. I want Braxton behind center, not Weeden, dammit!

Can you get rosters from someone or somewhere else? I have no desire to buy NCAA, but am thinking about getting Madden and want draft classes.

Yep. They have I think it's called "Madden Share" where you can share rosters, draft classes, and play books

I'm really torn which one to buy. I have a feeling Madden will be significantly better, and apparently offline franchise is back more or less...but I am afraid it will be October before I figure out how it all works, and I don't want to wait that long to play some football. So I am still considering NCAA...just not sure which to go with.

Yeah I decided to go with Madden...the clincher for me was the fact that the playoff isn't in NCAA, so basically you are stuck with the BCS season after season. I grew up playing Madden on the PC, so I'm back to that. Plus it's year 2 of the new engine, so hopefully that means improvements.

I'm with you.

Infinity 2 is what I have the most hope for, along with the offensive/defensive line improvements.

This'll actually be the first game I buy on the Playstation Store as opposed to digitally (You get 2 authorizations, and I have $20 in credits) so I'll report back with how that goes...call me old fashioned, but I always felt like the physical copy was the way to go.

EDIT:

And, regarding NCAA, I'll wait for this to blow over and we get a version including a playoff. This version is shit, as usual.

Review is up:

Madden 25 Review - IGN

highlights:

The other noticeable enhancement to moment-to-moment play is a much better set of tools for the running game. Maneuvers like spins, dives, stiff arms, and hurdles have all been improved and expanded, making great running backs and tight ends more awesome to play with. If you?re playing with a superstar athlete like Adrian Peterson, you can use a new Precision Modifier to really amp up the moves ? if a player's stat in, say, Hurdles, is high enough, he can leap greater bounds, jumping over diving defenders. It's tough to pull off, and can only be done with the superstar athletes, but it's so satisfying when it happens.

The Infinity Engine 2 physics got a lot of tweaking, and players look more realistic than ever in action. Each tackle feels and looks different, with players tumbling to the ground in myriad ways, but this year they do it without the crazy splaying legs and linebackers comically tripping over a downed receiver after a play

But the real meat-and-potatoes gameplay is better than ever, and when it comes down to it, we?re here to play some damn football. Madden 25 brings it with bone-crunching intensity.

8.5, biggest knock is on presentation (Rehashed concepts like fake Twitter etc).

Thankfully, seems like they refined what I care most about (The physics engine) and didn't waste a bunch of time on stupid bullshit like ESPN integration (Looking at you, NCAA)
