It seems likely that is either a spoof or a grab from a well-rendered cutscene being worked on for something.

But it's not hard to imagine in-game visuals of that quality being on the not-so-distant horizon. Perhaps not for the PS3 or XB2, but not long after. Visually, it's safe to expect some pretty incredible things from the next generation though. Everything offering 720p, 1080i, and not long after, 1080p. Fewer jaggies, much more complex polygon models and shading, greater realism across the board.

It looks like Xbox2 in 2005 and PS3 in 2006.

The first next-generation console should hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2005 with the introduction of Microsoft's Xbox 2.

Most analysts have predicted the PS3 to hit the markert early 2006. Software companys are expected to receieve a Development kit in the first half of Sony's 2006 fiscal year (calendar Q2 and Q3 2005), followed by the second SDK in the second half (calendar Q4 2005 and Q1 2006).

I thought I heard that EA and Madden are no longer going to make Madden....

He actually signed a deal with I believe ESPN games. I thought that EA's Football will be called NFL 06

and Madden will be back in 07 with ESPN games...

I could be wrong but I believe that's what a buddy of mine told me.

I haven't heard of him signing with anyone else, but I have heard at least 1 rumor that he might not be EA's frontman for NFL football much longer (no approximate date given.) At this point, he's becoming less of a need with the game. EA's football game has successfully branded itself to be fairly independent from Madden, and they use current players as cover athletes. They'll only need to pick a new play-by-play team for the presentation, which could actually improve the fame greatly (ala NCAA commentary.)

Either way, they'll still have a top game and rake in the sales.
