Madison Square Garden Brawl

That's astonishing! How in the hell did Danny Ainge ever manage to tackle Tree Rollins?

What's also odd about their skirmish is that the 7-footer did the biting. Years afterward, many folks remembered the incident but thought that Ainge was the one doing the biting, given his pesky attitude and the fact that Rollins was a much bigger guy.

Now that theres been a little bit of time between the fight and now, I really don't think it will be that big of a deal down the road as people make it out to be. Obviously, the sucker punch will always be remembered, but in reality it's not the worst thing that could have happened. Arrests and trouble with the law is much worse, and show how you really are away from basketball. I don't think there any of us on here that haven't lost our cool at one point or another, and while I'm not justifying Carmelo hitting Collins, it was a mistake, and he is still very young. I'm sure Carmelo was pissed for Collins taking a cheap shot on his teammate (Smith) and that Collins was egging him on the whole time. Even in the beggining Carmelo looked to be trying to break up the fight, and didn't appear to want to really make it worse.

It's a shame that it happened, but as long as Carmelo continues to succeed, the incident will minimize. Put it this way, I think that spitting in an opponent's face is far worse than hitting a guy that cheap-shotted your teammate.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2738245Nuggets star says he'll be 'better, stronger and smarter'

Carmelo Anthony apparently has put his time way from the game to good use.

The Denver Nuggets star is expected to return to the lineup Monday night against Memphis after serving a 15-game suspension for fighting, and he is excited.

In an open letter issued Sunday by the team, Anthony thanked his fans, teammates and Nuggets organization for their support the past month.

"I have been going crazy for 36 days waiting to return," Anthony wrote. "All my life playing basketball has come easy to me, but not being able to play has been the most difficult thing I have ever experienced as a player.

"I've spent this time off working on my game and reflecting on who I am. And who I want to be. I want all of you to know that I plan to be better, stronger and smarter on the court than I've ever been before. I've never been more dedicated to becoming the best player and teammate that I can be."
