Times must be good in Minnesota, every team there gets new confines.

Orlando City SC just announced that they're moving ahead with the stadium as a 100% privately funded project and expanding capacity to between 25-28k. They finally got tired of waiting on state politics and will not be using the city or county funds either.

That shows a lot of confidence in Orlando as a soccer market.

Yeah that...strikes me as a gamble.

Orlando City had been growing their fan base pretty well as a lower league team, and the push to get into MLS seemed to really grab the attention of everyone else in the area and pulled in a lot more interest. As long as they can remain at least a middling team they should sustain a decent draw to make it pay off.

Plus I think the spread out schedule keeps fatigue low and fans coming to games.

Absolutely phenomenal game between Portland and Sporting KC tonight in the last knockout round game. KC tied Portland up in the 87th minute to force extra time. KC struck first in ET in the 96th minute. Portland somehow found a way to respond in the 118th minute on a sick volley from a cross. PK's went all 11 players, Portland keeper scored his, KC keeper had his blocked. One of the best games I've seen.

I can't help but root for Portland because of the Caleb Porter connection and Seattle just because of that crowd. Really hoping we get a Western conf. finals showdown between those two, would be absolutely intense. I've never watched a Vancouver match so looking forward to that, I've heard those 3 have a great regional rivalry.

I think the Crew gets past Montreal and hoping they get DC instead of NYRB.

Some absolutely awful officiating at the end of the Orlando City vs Revolution match. Missed an easy handball on the late goal for Orlando City to go up 2-1, but it was in traffic, so slightly forgivable for not being able to see that clearly, even for the linesman. Then, nearing the end of stoppage time the refs initially call an handball just outside the box on an OCSC defender. Now, the supposed infraction clearly happened just inside the box, but it also wasn't even close to being a handball as the ball hit off the defender's shoulder. So after some very extended discussion with the other officials decided it was going to be a PK, and the Revolution tied it back up at 2-2.

Everything leveled out in the end, as it should have likely been a draw anyway, but it didn't level out in any kind of a good way.

Ugly center officiating yesterday in the Sporting KC game as well. Missed a clear and obvious penalty well inside the 18 that would have prompted a PK and resulted in a second yellow for the defender....went uncalled and changed the climate of the match dramatically.

The officiating is becoming a real issue for the league IMO. The facilities have been upgraded, the team payrolls are on the rise and the talent is developing nicely...time to address the officiating and get it up to par as well. Too many games are being decided by the officials rather than the play on the pitch.
