Malik Zaire (QB Notre Dame, transfer to Florida Gators)

As is the case with many Ohio prospects, Zaire grew up an Ohio State fan, but has said that he still plans to look around before making his ultimate decision.

"It is very difficult living in Ohio and not being a Buckeye fan. They have great fan support and their fans definitely check on you a lot. They are really high on my list.

"I'm planning on taking 3 trips to Pitt, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Those are my top schools so far, but I'm open to look at any other schools that like me."

Though Penn State isn't at the top yet, Zaire has been keeping tabs on the Nittany Lions, including the incoming coaching staff.

"[The Patriots offense] definitely is exciting to me as a QB because I watch Brady growing up and loving the system he played in. It's a similar offense that I want to be apart of so that I may be well prepared enough to win championships and being prepared for the next level."

Is it too late for Penn State? Zaire is good friends with a pair of Ohio State commits, five-star athlete Jalin Marshall and four-star cornerback Cameron Burrows. Zaire is also friends with Robert Foster, a five-star wide receiver from Pennsylvania, the top recruit in the Keystone State in 2013. While Foster is currently uncommitted, Zaire has big plans for them in the future.

"Robert has interest in a lot of schools and OSU is one of his tops. But the plan, for me hopefully, is for me and him to be at the same school. So we would be great together. I guess I'm doing a little recruiting myself."

his form and throwing motion when standing in the pocket reminds me of michael vick...i never saw Vicks HS film so i dont want to compare the two...and maybe its because hes a lefty but thats the first thing that jumped out to me when i watched his film...kid is going to be real good...really hope we land him

I agree on the throwing motion. His footwork was the first thing that stuckout to me. Kinda has that Peyton Manning footwork jumping and looking. This kidd would be a great catch for tOSU if he were to commit. Either way though I think I would root for this kidd no matter where he ended up.

Here are his junior highlights. Impressive footwork with a live arm. He throws a really nice ball and makes some of those throws look completely effortless. I'm really excited about this prospect. Certainly a candidate to be in the top five of the state with Marshall, Burrows, Thomas, and Price.

Wow...that is one of the more impressive QB films I've seen. Arm strength and accuracy already there, but Malik is already really far along technically. Sets his feet well, squares himself to his target, and lets it rip. Very good pocket presence and keeps his eyes downfield at all times...very good improvisation. He can get his throwing motion a little more compact but I'm shocked how far along he is for a junior in a run first offense. Also a very good runner. Honestly, I see a more accurate Tebow with a more orthodox throwing motion and a top 50 national talent...Malik is legit.

I would not surprised to see a commitment sooner rather than later and I'm pumped to hear he wants be a recruiter. Zaire throwing to Marshall, Foster, and/or LeMay/Gibson/Fulwood/etc. is an unreal prospect.

To be honest, I was impressed with his sophomore film for, like you said, a kid that has grown up in a run first system.

I was pretty blown away with his improvement from his sophomore film to his junior film. He looks like the most college ready quarterback to come out of Ohio in years from a passing stand point. He's neck and neck with Thomas and Price for #3 in the state next year, imo.
