At the Ohio State Summer Camp, coaches kept telling me to watch Malik Zaire, a young QB from Kettering Alter. Liked the potential that I saw in him. That was two years ago. Now, in his junior year, I had a chance to evaluate him last weekend. Again, liked the potential that I saw in him.

ast year, as a sophomore, Malik alternated at QB for one of the best football programs, not only in the Dayton area, but throughout Ohio. The success of the program is their powerful running game. Not always good for a running QB, who can also pass as well. Last Saturday, Malik ran and passed, and did both very effectively.

At 6'1-190, he patterns himself after Mike Vick. Honestly, he does a good job at it. Left-handed. Gets north/south quickly. Like his burst. Throws well on the run. Also understands coverage when throwing from the spread. Yes, Alter has added some spread to their offense. Like his high release, but wish he would improve his rpm's at times. Needs to improve follow-thru. Ball needs to spin more at times. All of the tools are there to be really good, just some need a little tweaking.

Like his footwork. Good athlete that throws a good ball. Seems like a good offer to me.

Now I'd like to see Lovell Peterson, Ben Gedeon, Tim Kimbrough, and Robert Foster get offers. All no brainers imo. Possibly a few tackles.

Even if they likely won't be around I'd like to see them get in on some recruits and show early interest.

He just made a beautiful throw across his body 35 yards down field. Hit his WR right in stride, he didn't even have to extend his arms to make the catch, but the WR dropped it anyway.

Seems pretty typical for a HS QB, it doesn't matter how good you are, the talent around you lets you down sometimes.

bingo, I can't believe how accurate that throw was on the run. After just watching the 1st quarter now I'm convinced. Scholly :biggrin: Hope we get him
