I think they are shirt sleeves that are from those nike quickfit shirts. I do this all the time when i make a cut off. I keep the sleeves for a quick headband when i play basketball.

Bummer. I wanted to buy one of those headbands, cuz I have really long hair too and that seemed like a really good solution. But I dont want to spend 70 bucks on a shirt that I have to rip in order to get it.
