Manning can't win the big one yet again...

If Peyton lost the game did Cory Dillon win it?
Actually I give credit to NE defense.

Teams win and teams lose, I would guess the only people that know that are the ones that played on a team.

It is a team game and the Colts did drop too many balls and miss too many tackles and coverages.

Of course poor Peyton just set an NFL touchdown pass record and got a $34 million signing bonus. I think he will survive.

Well - I don't know who won it (though Dillon's role was big in a great ground game).
I agree with you that NE Defense deserves major props for another stonewalling of the "unstoppable" Colt offense. To name just one of them --
:osu: Vrabel -- another great game. I'm so glad Mike found a fitting home for his talents after his poor experience in Da Burg.

So what excuses do you make for him when he couldn't beat Florida?

I am completely indifferent to Manning one way or the other but given the entire body of his work(college and pro) there is definitly something to the premise "he can't win the big game".

Remember UT won the NC the very next year after he left.

To say an individual "can't win the big one" in a predominately team sport is a stretch. He was trying to beat the defending Super Bowl champs on their field in, at times, a blinding snow storm against a team built by a defensive genius.

Come on, it wasn't Manning vs. the Patriots. How many blocks did Manning miss that kept James from gaining more than 49 yards? Manning can only throw the ball, he can't catch it too. Dink - another pass off of a receiver's hands. The Colts defense has NE third and 10 at the 6 yard-line with about 14 minutes in the fourth quarter and down 13-3. Great field position is riding on the play. What happens - NO ONE COVERS THE BACK and it's Pats first down. Seven minutes later - TD. Not one time did I see Manning trying to stop that drive.

Give him a break. He had a fantastic season. The Patriots are just a better TEAM than the Colts.
