Nice work, proves what anyone with a brain (i.e. not Mark May) knows: You'll find athletes by the bunch at any talent rich school, regardless of where they are located. Might want to check the spelling of a couple LSU players on there. It's Holliday, not Holloway. Jacob Hester should probably be listed considering he seems to be the one getting the majority of the reps.

Alright, so after I received a link to May's website from "utgrad" (thanks man, btw), I sent him this comment:

Mark,

I seem to remember you discussing with Kirk Herbstreit the other night after the BCS Bowls were announced about how LSU was a lot faster than Ohio State, mainly because of Trindon Holiday. I have done my research, finding 40 times for all those who are regular contributors on each side of the ball for both LSU and Ohio State, and found some information that you may find very interesting and maybe open your eyes a bit on the whole "southern speed" subject. The numbers were taken from 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange, so you can check them for yourself, as I have not fudged them at all. You'll find that at each position, Ohio State actually does put guys on the field that, on average, are actually faster than those found at LSU. Take a look at what I have drawn up:

I'd love to hear back from you and see what you think, would also love to hear you mention this on the air, but if not I understand. Nobody likes to be proven wrong. Crow isn't in season right now, so I can't imagine it would taste very good.
Think I'll hear anything back from him?

Guys, I have moved the SEC-Big Ten speed discussion to the "BCS facts for your SEC friends" thread.

We all know that Mark May makes comments about Ohio State in order to boost chatter about him on message boards and to boost his image with all non-Buckeye fans. He uses your posts in threads like this to show ESPN that he has impact in the sport and to boost his salary.

Why would we want to help him boost his pay check?

I would like to suggest that we rename this thread "Mark May: The stupid things he says".

I chose this title to ensure that the thread gets the most hits from search engines.

We could record the stupid things he says in the same fashion as we capture things in the Police Blotter thread. By that I mean, wouldn't it serve the interests of the Buckeyes more if we refrained from running up a post count by commenting on his obvious stupidity and simply provided a thread of stupidity gems that come from his lips?

Consider a thread of posts like this:

"During the halftime show of the Ohio State-Iowa game, May said, 'without doubt, South Florida deserves to be ranked #1 because they are a far better team than Ohio State. Oregon is also a much better team and probably will go undefeated.'"

If you just think of the type of incredibly stupid things he says, such as Ohio State would have at least three losses if it played an SEC or PAC10 schedule, etc., it is clear that such a thread would contain some really funny gems within the span of a few weeks.

Such a thread could quickly become an internet legend by providing an easily accessible and objective reference source on his weighty utterances. It also could become a front page link in any Google check of his name.

May would realize that every stupid comment was being archived and that he had two choices: stop the nonsense or join his friend Trev.

I agree with everything but this last sentence.

Mark May isn't quite the primadonna and attention whore that Trevvie was or is......

Mark May is only on there to start controversy. This cannot be where his heart lies. He picked West Virginia to beat Pitt, and yet he went to Pitt. No one who went to Pitt would EVER do that. That would be like an Ohio State fan picking Michigan to win.

He is paid to start trouble.

He can talk all day long about what he thinks. He's proven over and over (except 2002) that he is clueless. He originally picked Oklahoma as the team to beat tOSU in the NC game (before it was decided by the BCS), then later he changed his misinformed mind to support LSU. He is just creating superficial conflict. He hates the Buckeyes and that is clear and finds every opportunity to discredit us. Personally I like the option of turning him off, but I find the show entertaining and his comments atypical for a Buckeye basher. I don't like him and his demeanor, but he gives us something to talk about after he opens his mouth.

The whole SEC speed thing is a joke too. This will be a fast game and we'll prevail. Everyone will think that tOSU will just plod along when in reality, our guys will be running them silly. The defense and LSU turnovers will be the difference.

Go Bucks! Take the tigers by the tail. :osu:

You may recall he was the only SPIN pundit on the show Sunday night, who never asked Todd B one question. His venom started with the ambush at the Alamo Bowl and has never stopped. I will actually begin to worry if he ever says something/anything complimentary about our program. He has been so consistantly wrong, so much of the time, one develops an imunity to his comments. I'm beyond personalizing this . . . . . . . his comments weekin and weekout speak for itself.

No, Crow isn't in season until January 8th.

On that day, it will be served up by the truck-load.
