Marvel Cinematic Universe

It would help to at least have seen Thor: Ragnarok, only because IW begins precisely where Ragnarok ended. If you skipped Black Panther that's not a deal breaker.
for someone who is not a fantasy superhero junkie, does the payoff from watching ragnarok and infinity war warrant the investment? it's not that i don't like superhero movies, but i did find the adoration for logan to be a bit overplayed.

Ragnarok was hilarious. You should see it just because it's brilliant.

So it wasn't what I expected, but this week's AoS definitely had a stronger tie-in to the movie, and I expect the payoff will happen next week. The intro reel was also much closer to the movie Marvel reel than the intro it has had since like season 2 or 3, which caught my attention. Feels like the season finale might set up things to move into the Avengers 4 buildup if there is a next season. I can only hope that it would suggest Coulson returning to the big screen for 4, but given the preview for next week, I'm not feeling optimistic he makes it to next season.
