Maryland Terrapins (turtle)

I would pay to see that game. Great defense great special teams. Nitty and gritty gust how I like it. I have a question how do you OSU fans view maryland. DO you think their garbage, respect them, dont really care about them ?

Welcome to BP. Personally I respect the Terps, but to be honest I don't know if it would be much of a game. Back when I was in college my OL coach had a lot of respect for the Terps line (OL coach) so some of that might have rubbed off on me.

I live down here in Baltimore so I am bombarded by Maryland this and Maryland that... seen quite a few games...

Solid program, not anywhere near elite... Comparable to Northwestern in my mind. Every few years with the right team and schedule they can have a great year, but not about to sustain this year after year.

I think we are a little better than Northwestern because over last 3 years we have consistently have had good recruiting. I dont know if that can be said about NW

p.s. tell me your a skins fan.... *holds up hand to high five if you are*

I lived about 20 miles north of Baltimore for about 5 years and I know what you mean. But the MD people never talked about the football team until they were good for a year. Now they keep talking about them, even they they still aren't great.

I agree they are above Northwestern, probably more like Minnesota has been the last couple years, where you can count on them to beat a top-25 team, spend a few weeks in the top-20, and end up with several losses by the end of the year.

And the b-ball fans are nuts. I can't believe espin continues to televise their homegames. More foul language than Pulp Fiction and almost as much gore when Duke is in town.

There is only one football team in America that I hate as much as I hate scUM...and that would be Maryland (for personal reasons) I have seen the 'stadium' that the twerps play in...Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium and Elder's Pitt are nicer facilities. The 'fans' that frequent twerp games have no idea what a real tailgate experience is like, either. I have been to better high school tailgate parties. The team itself and their 'protect this house' uniforms are average more years then not. I would personally welcome the twerps coming to the Horseshoe and taking a big, nasty ass kicking.

Go Bucks!

2004: 8-4
2003: 11-2
2002: 14-0
2001: 7-5

And just for the record, may I point out some of the notable out-of-conference games for MD (sorry for pulling an NDChief trick  ):

Eastern Michigan - 2001, 2002, 2003
Troy - 2001
Wofford - 2002 - Division I-AA, if I recall
Northern Illinois - 2003 (Loss), 2004
Citadel - 2004 - also Division I-AA, I believe
Temple - 2004

very impressive.

honestly, I think most of the college football fans around the country (myself included) look at the Terps as a basketball school.

Oh, and we were 8-4 not 7-5, after having 14 players drafted off the previous years team. We will be just fine.
